Abstract: A transmitting apparatus according to one aspect of the present disclosure transmits a plurality of first transmission data and a plurality of second transmission data by using an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing) method. The transmitting apparatus includes frame configuring circuitry, which in operation, generates a frame including a first period in which a preamble is transmitted, a second period in which the plurality of first transmission data is multiplexed by a time division multiplexing method and is transmitted, and a third period in which the plurality of second transmission data is multiplexed by a frequency division multiplexing method and is transmitted; and transmitting circuitry that transmits the frame.

Abstract: Some aspects relate to apparatuses and methods for selecting a receiving beam based on hybrid channel based beamforming and codebook based beamforming. A user equipment (UE) can determine, based on a first measurement related to signal to noise ratio (SNR) and predetermined threshold values, whether the UE is in a low SNR state. If the UE is in a low SRN state, the UE can derive an estimated channel covariance matrix RCH for channels at a set of antenna elements of the UE based on channel based bearmforming (CHBF). Afterwards, a set of test bears {0, . . . Ntest−1} is selected based on the channel covariance matrix RCH, and a set of codebook measurement beams is further selected based on the set of test beams. A receiving beam is selected based on a set of measurements performed on the set of codebook measurement beams at the measurement opportunity for codebook based beamforming (CBBF).

Abstract: An electronic device may include communications circuitry, sensing circuitry, and a set of antennas having first and second feeds for covering different polarizations. The communications circuitry may transmit signals with a first polarization using each of the antennas and may concurrently transmit signals with a second polarization using all but a selected one of the antennas. The sensing circuitry may concurrently transmit sensing signals with the first polarization using one of the antennas and may receive sensing signals with the second polarization using the selected antenna. The sensing signals may include chirp signals generated to include muted periods that correspond to a range of frequencies that overlap frequencies at which the wireless circuitry is subject to radio-frequency interference. This may allow for concurrent wireless communications and sensing operations without interference between the communications circuitry and the sensing circuitry.

Abstract: A method for performing a beamformed transmission and/or reception in a wireless communication using an antenna array comprising a first sub-array of first antenna elements each having a first polarization and a second sub-array of second antenna elements each having a second polarization that is orthogonal to the first polarization is provided. The method comprises obtaining a first weight vector for the first sub-array and a second weight vector for the second sub-array. The first weight vector and the second weight vector optimize a utility function. The utility function comprises a first term depending on a first function of the first weight vector and on a second function of the second weight vector. The utility function further comprises a second term depending on either one of the first function and the second function. Performing the beamformed transmission using the obtained first weight vector and the second weight vector.

In some aspects, a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) may select a weight vector, from a plurality of stored weight vectors, for enabling a spatially multiplexed communication, between a transmitter and a receiver, that includes two or more layers for each polarization of a plurality of polarizations for the spatially multiplexed communication. The RIS may receive the spatially multiplexed communication from the transmitter. The RIS may transmit the spatially multiplexed communication to the receiver in accordance with the weight vector.
