Abstract: A base station is provided which notifies a mobile station of transmission power information for an uplink RACH, the mobile station transmits transmission delay estimation information on the RACH to the base station over the RACH at a transmission power based on the transmission power information, and the base station changes the transmission power information according to the transmission delay estimation information and notifies the mobile station of the changed transmission power information. The mobile station retransmits data or a preamble if the mobile station does not receive a notification that the base station has received the data or the preamble correctly after a predetermined time. The base station transmits the transmission power information over a BCH and a CPICH transmitted to a plurality of mobile stations.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for distinguishing between an antenna of a user equipment (UE) being blocked by a cover (e.g., a protective rubber or plastic case) or by human tissue (e.g., a finger or palm). The transmission power of uplink (UL) signals may be adjusted accordingly, with relatively higher transmission power for open space or a cover and relatively lower transmission power for human tissue. One example method for wireless communications by a UE generally includes transmitting a first signal from the UE, receiving a plurality of signals at the UE based on the transmitted first signal, determining values for at least two different types of parameters based on the received plurality of signals, determining an environmental scenario for the UE based on the values for the at least two different types of parameters, and transmitting a second signal using a transmission power based on the determined environmental scenario.

Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for a power spectrum density based configuration. One method includes transmitting, from a user equipment, UCI bits via a PUCCH in a shared spectrum using multiple PRBs. The method includes receiving a configuration message including a number of resource blocks for a PUCCH format 0, a PUCCH format 1, or a PUCCH format 4 depending on a SCS. The configuration message indicates at least one technique that satisfies a PUCCH PSD requirement, and the PUCCH PSD requirement includes a larger sequence length generation, mapping information that maps time and frequency domain resources for larger sequence to multiple RBs or a repetition of sequences to multiple RBs, and/or information corresponding to subcarrier interlacing.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Multiple component carriers may be configured for communications between communication devices, where uplink data channel resources may be scheduled on a component carrier of the component carriers. A communication device may report, over the uplink data channel resources to another communication device, a first report for available transmission power for uplink data transmissions over the component carrier and a second report associated with available transmission power for uplink control transmissions over a second component carrier. The other communication device may use the second report to determine the available transmission power for uplink control transmissions over the second component carrier. The other communication device may schedule communication resources based on the determined available transmission power for uplink control transmissions.

A method at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving signaling that indicates a carrier aggregation (CA) configuration (having carriers configured for UL and downlink (DL) data transmissions) and an auxiliary uplink (UL) configuration (having carriers configured for UL reference signal transmissions). The method also includes receiving a resource assignment on a DL carrier of the CA configuration, and transmitting an aperiodic sounding reference signal (A-SRS) using the one or more carriers of the auxiliary UL configuration based at least in part on the received resource assignment. Another method is performed by a UE having a CA configuration and an A-SRS configuration, including receiving a resource assignment on a DL carrier in the CA configuration, detecting a trigger for transmitting an A-SRS, determining UL resources of the A-SRS configuration for transmitting the A-SRS, and transmitting the A-SRS on the determined UL resources.
