Abstract: There is provided mechanisms for performing a beam management procedure. A method is performed by a network node. The method comprises obtaining configuration information from a terminal device for which the network node provides network access. The configuration information specifies that the terminal device is in need for evaluating different polarization states in different time units during the beam management procedure. The method comprises performing the beam management procedure with the terminal device. The beam management procedure involves the network node to, per slot, transmit reference signals according to a reference signal transmission scheme. The reference signal transmission scheme depends on the obtained configuration information.

Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may be configured to measure a downlink quality associated with at least one first beam. The WTRU may be configured to determine whether the measured downlink quality associated with the at least one first beam is below a threshold value. The WTRU may be configured to receive at least one control channel transmission using a determined second beam, based on, in part, a determination that the measured downlink quality associated with the at least one first beam is below the threshold value. The determined second beam used to receive the at least one control channel transmission may be a same beam that is used to receive an associated data channel transmission. The determined second beam may be from a set of beams. The set of beams may be received via higher layer signaling.

Abstract: A method for wireless communication is disclosed, wherein an access node is configured to transmit signals using beamforming to a user device, wherein transmitting signals using beamforming comprises transmitting signals using a selected beam of a plurality of available beams, and wherein beam tracking comprises measurements by the user device on a candidate set of beams of the plurality of available beams for beam selection. The method comprises predicting a future trajectory for the user device, and determining the candidate set of beams based on the predicted future trajectory. In some embodiments, determining the candidate set of beams based on the predicted future trajectory comprises giving preference to available beams covering the predicted future trajectory. In some embodiments, determining the candidate set of beams comprises letting a first candidate set of beams associated with a first reliability of the prediction include more available beams not covering the predicted future trajectory than does a second candidate set of beams associated with a second reliability of the prediction when the first reliability is lower than the second reliability. Corresponding apparatus, network node and computer program product are also disclosed.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving, over an uplink (UL) via a combination of coherent modular antenna arrays, first transmissions from a first user equipment (UE) and second transmissions from a second UE, wherein the first UE and the second UE are being served by the cell in multi-user (Mu)-multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) mode, determining, based on the first transmissions and the second transmissions, that a probability of the second UE interfering with the first UE in the UL satisfies a particular threshold, responsive to the determining, identifying an adjustment to an UL transmit power for the first UE, and causing the first UE to implement the adjustment to the UL transmit power. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may measure one or more of a first plurality of beam reference signals. Further, the WTRU may select a first beam reference signal from among the measured one or more of the first plurality of beam reference signals. Also, WTRU may determine a set of physical random access channel (PRACH) resources for the selected first beam reference signal. Moreover, the WTRU may measure one or more of a second plurality of beam reference signals. Further, the WTRU may select a second beam reference signal from among the measured one or more of the second plurality of beam reference signals. The WTRU may transmit an indication of the selected second beam reference signal in a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission, and may transmit a PRACH signal using at least one PRACH resource of the determined set of PRACH resources.

Abstract: Provided herein are method and apparatus for configuration of a Reference Signal (RS) and a Tracking Reference Signal (TRS). An embodiment provides a method for a user equipment (UE), including determining a number of slots for a Tracking Reference Signal (TRS), wherein the number of slots is based on a subcarrier spacing of a bandwidth part (BWP) in a current component carrier for the UE; and receiving TRS based on the number of slots and a quasi co-location (QCL) relationship of the TRS, wherein the QCL relationship indicates that the TRS is Quasi-Co-Located (QCLed) with a Synchronization Signal (SS) block or a Channel State Information Reference Signal (CSI-RS).
