Abstract: A system comprising a relay device that configures to a first beamforming setting for a first set of antenna arrays to establish a first link between the relay device and a source device, and a second beamforming setting to establish a second link between the relay device and a destination device. A data stream is processed based on a selection of one of a passive mode or an active mode of relay operation. In the passive mode, a received radio frequency waveform of the data stream is down-converted to an intermediate frequency waveform, re-amplified, and then up-converted for transmission without requiring any data demodulation, and in the active mode, the IF waveform is demodulated and then remodulated for the transmission. The data stream is forwarded to the destination device through the second link based on the selection of one of the passive or active mode.

Abstract: A method implemented in a relay device that comprises a plurality of antenna arrays, includes configuring first beamforming setting for first set of antenna arrays of the plurality of antenna arrays of the relay device to establish a first link between the relay device and a source device. A first data stream is received with a first beam pattern from the source device through the first link and a second data stream with a second beam pattern is forwarded to a destination device through second link without de-modulating the first data stream. The method further includes monitoring a first set of communication parameters associated with the first set of antenna arrays, where the first beamforming setting is configured based on the monitoring of the first set of communication parameters.

Abstract: A novel LPWAN technology includes a ZCNET node that transmit signals that occupy a very small fraction of the signal space, resulting in very low collision probabilities. ZCNET supports parallel root channels within a single frequency channel by using Zadoff-Chu (ZC) root sequences. The root channels do not severely interfere with each other, because the interference power is spread evenly over the entire signal space. ZCNET has its node randomly choose the transmission channel and range, while still achieving high packet receiving ratios such as 0.9 or above, because the load in each root channel is small.

Abstract: A device that comprises a plurality of distributed transceivers, a central processor and a network management engine may be configured to function as relay device, relaying an input data stream from a source device to at least one other device. The relaying may include configuring one or more of the plurality of distributed transceivers to particular mode of relay operation and receiving the input data stream from the source device via at least one of the configured one or more of the plurality of distributed transceivers. The relaying may also include transmitting at least one relay data stream corresponding to the input data stream to the at least one other device, via at least one of the configured one or more of the plurality of distributed transceivers.

Abstract: The transmission of a reference signal, such as a CSI-RS, is enabled while maintaining a power saving effect when performing inter-cell cooperative transmission/reception or the like in a plurality of cells. In order to realize inter-cell cooperative transmission/reception, a CSI-RS which is used for estimating the state of a spatial propagation path of a communication line is generated by a CSI-RS generation unit, and the CSI-RS is disposed in a predetermined subframe by a disposition unit and transmitted. At this time, when a frame has ten subframes #0 to #9, the CSI-RS is disposed in the subframes #4 and #9, which are subframes excluding the subframes #0 and #5 incapable of transmitting a CSI-RS and are subframes other than subframes capable of acting as MBSFN subframes when discontinuous communication (Extended Cell DTX) is performed so as to achieve power saving, and transmitted.

Abstract: A transmission apparatus includes a plurality of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation signal generators, which generate a first OFDM modulation signal and a second OFDM modulation signal. The transmission apparatus also includes a transmitter that transmits the first OFDM modulation signal from a first antenna and the second OFDM modulation signal from a second antenna, in an identical frequency band. A reception apparatus is provided, which includes a plurality of antennas that receive a plurality of OFDM modulation signals; a plurality of OFDM demodulators that transform the plurality of OFDM modulation signals to a plurality of reception signals using Fourier transform; an estimator that outputs a distortion estimation signal using one or more symbols for demodulation included in the plurality of reception signals; and a demodulator that compensates for distortion of the reception signals using the distortion estimation signal and demodulates a data symbol included in the reception signals.
