Abstract: A communication method includes transmitting resource assignment information including bits that indicate activation or deactivation statuses of respective downlink component carriers, which are secondary downlink component carriers added to a primary component carrier which is always activated, each of the downlink component carriers corresponding to one bit included in bits, and the one bit indicating that a corresponding downlink component carrier is to be activated or deactivated. When any one bit of the bits indicates that its corresponding downlink component carrier is to be activated, the bits jointly indicate the activation or deactivation statuses, a sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission request and a channel quality information (CQI) reporting request. The method also includes receiving a SRS and a CQI that are transmitted, in response to the SRS transmission request and the CQI reporting request, on an uplink component carrier linked to an activated downlink component carrier(s).

Abstract: Method and apparatus for conveying feedback reports from a data receiving party (300) for data received from a data sending party (302) in a wireless connection. A plurality of feedback resources (304) assigned to different feedback information codes are allocated to the data receiving party for transmitting feedback reports. After checking whether the data was received correctly or not, the data receiving party selects a feedback resource (FR2) with a feedback information code that corresponds to one or more feedback reports on the received data. The data receiving party then sends feedback information on the selected feedback resource to the data sending party, thereby conveying the corresponding feedback information code. In this way, multiple feedback reports can be conveyed in a single feedback resource to the data sending party while still retaining single carrier properties.

Abstract: A method for enhanced physical downlink control channel monitoring (PDCCH) includes determining a monitoring span for monitoring a PDCCH within a slot, the monitoring span having a start symbol and a duration that spans one or more symbols within the slot. Abstract: A user equipment (UE) monitors a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) in multiple component carriers (CC). The UE determines if the UE is operating in carrier aggregation (CA) mode having a first CC in a first frequency band and a second CC in a second frequency band. When the UE is operating in CA with a first CC in the first frequency band and the second CC in the second frequency band, the UE determines a span pattern for PDCCH symbols being received on the first and second CC and selects a PDCCH monitoring type based on, at least, the span pattern. A UE also determines if a first CC and a second CC of a CA combination are collocated and selects a PDCCH monitoring type based on, at least, the determination of whether the first and second CC are collocated.

Abstract: Some aspects relate to a carrier aggregation wireless system having a user equipment (UE). The UE can generate a report of a UE capability to support a first downlink control information (DCI) in a first DCI format for a cell of a plurality of cells of the wireless system and a second DCI in a second DCI format for the cell, and a report of a UE capability to support splitting a blind decoding (BD) of control channel element (CCE) (BD/CCE) budget between performing BD/CCE carrying the first DCI in the first DCI format, and performing BD/CCE carrying the second DCI in the second DCI format. The first DCI in the first DCI format can schedule data transmissions for a set of multiple cells. The UE may perform BD/CCE carrying the first DCI in the first DCI format, and perform BD/CCE carrying the second DCI in the second DCI format.
