摘要: An illumination system (1), especially for medical applications, is provided which, using a light source (20) as a starting point and a beam splitter (11) in a free-beam optical unit, forms two illumination light arms (5a, 5b), by which a respective oblique illumination (25a, 25b), preferably an adaptive respective oblique illumination, can be realized. In the process, the arising illumination field (2) can be adapted to a current field of view of an associated imaging system (3) by an adjustable beam shaping optical unit (6) in the respective illumination light arm (5a, 5b).

摘要: Systems and associated methods and techniques for illuminating and imaging a device, such as a microfluidic or microarray device, are described herein. An optical source that illuminates the planar surface at an oblique angle can be used with optical components, such as an offset optical shaping rod and a wedge prism, used to provide uniform illumination across the planar surface and allow the illumination to appropriately reach the target illumination area despite the geometric limitations imposed by the presence and position of imaging, microfluidic control, and/or thermal cycling components.

The optical microscope comprises in an order along an optical axis (6) from the object plane to the image plane, a first lens (7), a second lens (11) and a third lens (14). The first lens (7) has a first lens surface (8) at the side of the object plane and a second lens surface (9) at a side of the image plane, the first lens surface having a first semi-reflective coating (10). The second lens (11) has a third lens surface (12) at the side of the object plane and a fourth lens surface (13) at a side of the image plane. The third lens (14) has a fifth lens surface (15) at the side of the object plane and a sixth lens surface (16) at a side of the image plane, the sixth lens surface having a second semi-reflective coating (17).
The optical microscope is compact and provides for a diffraction-limited performance (MTF) over the full field of view with low distortion and low field curvature.-

摘要: A microscope for fluorescence light imaging includes an illumination device configured to direct excitation light along an excitation beam path into a sample, and a detection device configured to detect fluorescence light emanating from the sample along a detection beam path which is located in a same hemisphere relative to the sample as the excitation beam path, wherein the illumination device includes a light guiding system configured to guide the excitation light such that, in phase space defined by position and angle of a light beam, a support of the excitation beam path is disjunct from a support of the detection beam path, and wherein the detection device includes at least one emission filter configured to allow the fluorescence light propagating along the detection beam path to be detected for fluorescence light imaging while discarding light that is spectrally different from the fluorescence light.

摘要: An illumination apparatus for illuminating a sample plane and a sample that is optionally arranged therein along an illumination beam path includes: a first light source (for outputting light of at least one first wavelength (λphoto), a second light source for outputting light of at least one second wavelength (λexc), and a diffraction grating in the illumination beam path between the first and second light sources and the sample plane. Light of the first wavelength (λphoto) is not diffracted by the diffraction grating, and light of the second wavelength (λexc) is diffracted due to the effect of the diffraction grating. The illumination apparatus can be used in a microscope.

摘要: Contact lenses, methods and systems for accomplishing the requirement for biocompatibility of oxygen delivery to the eye, and the cornea in particular, when elements and components are used which reduce the transmissibility of oxygen and which require coverage of a significant area of the non-vascularized cornea. A contact lens assembly is provided, comprising: an anterior surface, a posterior surface and at least one element or component having a substantially low oxygen permeability disposed within the lens. The contact lens also includes a layer having an oxygen permeability greater than the aforementioned element or component. The thickness of this layer is such that the layer provides an equivalent oxygen percentage to the cornea beneath the aforementioned element or component.

摘要: A method is used to generate a report presenting parameter values corresponding to a structured illumination microscopy (SIM) optical system. The parameter values are based at least in part on the performed modulation calculation corresponding to an image set captured with the SIM optical system. A minimum FWHM slice is identified, based at least in part on an average FWHM value across the images in the first image set. Parameter estimation is performed on the identified minimum FWHM slice. Best in-focus parameters are identified based at least in part on the performed estimation. A phase estimate is performed for each image in the set. A modulation calculation is performed based at least in part on the identified best in-focus parameters. The report is based at least in part on the performed modulation calculation.
