    摘要: A grinding tool for grinding an engine includes a main body with a central coupling region for connecting to a rotary drive of a grinding machine, the main body having a substantially rotationally symmetrical configuration with respect to an axis of rotation. The grinding tool also includes a grinding layer on the main body that extends over an outer circular ring zone of the main body, at least one feed for a cooling fluid, and a substantially circular cover plate arranged substantially normal to the axis of rotation and forming an axial gap on the main body. The axial gap is in fluid communication with the feed and the grinding layer so that a cooling fluid fed by the feed can be passed via the axial gap to the grinding layer.

    摘要: A method for reconditioning a compactor wheel of a compaction machine is provided. The method includes mounting a compactor wheel on a positioning system configured to provide one or more of angular adjustment, vertical and horizontal translation, and rotation of the compactor wheel, so as to position the compactor wheel in a desired position. The method also includes providing a welding system configured to perform a submerged arc strip welding or weld cladding operation on the compactor wheel. The submerged arc strip welding or weld cladding operation is performed on at least one surface or edge of the compactor wheel to add weldable material thereto, so as to recondition the at least one surface or edge of the compactor wheel.

The method comprises polishing a surface of the internal combustion chamber, the surface during use of the internal combustion engine exposed to combustion, said polishing effective to increase a reflectivity of the surface. The surface may include a first zone not traversed by the one or more pistons and polished in a first manner (pressure, time, electrical current density or voltage) to yield a first reflectivity and a second zone traversed by the one or more pistons polished in a different manner and yielding a second reflectivity.

    摘要: A material-removing machine for removing material from a cone section of a medical balloon includes a material-removing element operatively connected to a prime mover such that operation of the prime mover imparts rotation to the material-removing element about a rotational axis. The material-removing element includes an interior surface defining a generally conical-shaped cavity extending along the rotational axis and adapted to receive at least a longitudinal portion of a cone section of an expanded medical balloon for removing material from the longitudinal portion of the cone section to reduce a wall thickness of the cone section. Material may be removed continuously around a 360-degree exterior perimeter of the longitudinal portion of the cone section of the medical balloon to reduce the thickness of the balloon wall defining the cone section.

    摘要: Enhanced methods are disclosed for performing operations such as cleaning, inspection or data acquisition on an external surface of a hollow cylindrical tubular. Preferred embodiments include providing a fluid dispenser and an abrasion assembly on a buggy that travels up and down the length of the tubular as the tubular rotates. The fluid dispenser includes nozzles that dispense cleaning fluids onto the tubular's external surface. The abrasion assembly includes a swivel brush and a brush train providing different styles of abrasion cleaning of the tubular's external surface. Preferred embodiments of the buggy also carry a range finding laser and an optical camera generating samples that may be processed in real time into data regarding the surface contours and the diameter variations on the tubular's external surface. Cleaning and inspection variables such as tubular rotational speed, or buggy speed, may be adjusted responsive to measured surface contour data.
