Abstract: The disclosed systems and methods for transmission and reception comprising: i) receiving a plurality of data bits; ii) generating FEC-based encoded data bits in accordance with a zipper code framework incorporating component non-binary codes, wherein the zipper code framework including a buffer having a virtual buffer and a real buffer; iii) storing codewords associated with the FEC-based encoded bits in rows of the real buffer; iv) mapping a given codeword in a given row of the real buffer to different rows of the virtual buffer; v) receiving an analog signal transmitted by a transmitter; vi) processing the received analog signal and generating received forward error correction (FEC)-based encoded bits in accordance with a zipper code framework that incorporates component non-binary codes; and vii) decoding the received FEC-based encoded bits in accordance with a non-binary decoding technique and generating information bits.

Abstract: A transmission method for transmitting an emergency warning signal, pertaining to one aspect of the present disclosure, includes: generating control information, the control information including a flag indicating either presence or absence of information related to a region and, when the flag indicates presence, information related to the region; acquiring information related to emergency warning content; and generating the emergency warning signal including the control information and the information related to the emergency warning content. Thus, emergency warning (early warning) information can be transmitted with greater precision.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for network coding for handover are disclosed herein. A base station (BS) transmits a first group of encoded packets to a first road side unit (RSU) over a first radio access network (RAN) interface. The BS initiates a handover procedure between the first RSU and a second RSU. The BS receives, from the first RSU, a release acknowledgment associated with the handover procedure and feedback associated with the first group of encoded packets. The BS transmits network coding level information to the second RSU over a second RAN interface based on the feedback. The network coding level information indicates a number of missing encoded packets within the first group of encoded packets for the second RSU to transmit to the UE. The BS transmits, to the UE, a second group of encoded packets associated with the number of missing encoded packets at the second RSU.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method, apparatus and system for configuring control channels in a mobile communication network and a mobile station. In order to suggest another improved scheme for configuring control channels, in particular control channels related to the transmission of user data the invention suggests aligning the size of the control channel information of different formats to an equal number of coded control channel information bits and/or modulation symbols for each control channel. The control channels may comprise scheduling related control information. According to another aspect of the invention, the size of the control channel information is aligned by means of modulation and/or coding, however the control channel information is aligned to one out of a set of numbers of coded control channel information bits and/or modulation symbols for each control channel.

A first instance of an error detection code of a particular type is identified in the first data. Second data is received on at least a portion of the plurality of data lanes and a stream signal corresponding to the second data is received on the stream lane identifying a type of the second data. A second instance of the error detection code of the particular type is identified in the second data. The stream lane is another one of the lanes of the physical link and, in some instance, the type of the second data is different from the type of the first data.

Abstract: A system and method for wirelessly transmitting audiovisual information. A first plurality of packets including audiovisual information may be generated. A second plurality of packets including error correction coding information for the audiovisual information may be generated. Control information for associating the error correction coding information with the audiovisual information may be generated, and a third plurality of packets including the control information may also be generated. The plurality of packets, including the first, second, and third pluralities of packets, may be transmitted to a mobile device in a wireless manner. The control information may inform the mobile device of the association of the first error correction coding information with the audiovisual information.

Abstract: Embodiments of this disclosure improve the reliability of blind decoding when beamforming is used by having a user equipment (UE) receive a single downlink control information (DCI) message with different transmission and/or reception parameters. In some embodiments, a UE receives more than one set of configuration parameters, where any two sets of configuration parameters out of the more than one set of configuration parameters have at least one different parameter. The UE may receive two sets of configuration parameters each having a different transmission modes, but the same search space type. Additional examples are also provided.

Abstract: A method for performing code block segmentation for wireless transmission using concatenated forward error correction encoding includes receiving a transport block of data for transmission having a transport block size, along with one or more parameters that define a target code rate. A number N of inner code blocks needed to transmit the transport block is determined. A number M-outer code blocks may be calculated based on the number of inner code blocks and on encoding parameters for the outer code blocks. The transport block may then be segmented and encoded according to the calculated encoding parameters.
