摘要: An engine assembly is provided that includes an engine having a crankshaft that is caused to rotate response to a firing of the engine, a backplate affixed to the engine and comprising one or more air flow passages formed therethrough, and an engine cooling fan operatively coupled to the crankshaft so as to be rotated by the crankshaft, the engine cooling fan coupled to the crankshaft on a side of the backplate opposite the engine. The engine assembly also includes a fan cover mounted over the engine cooling fan and secured to the backplate, the fan cover including an opening through which an air flow is provided to the engine cooling. The backplate and the fan cover collectively form an air guide that directs a flow of cooling air generated by the engine cooling fan through the one or more air flow passages of the backplate and to the engine.

摘要: An engine assembly for an aircraft, including an internal combustion engine having a liquid coolant system in fluid communication with a heat exchanger, an exhaust duct in fluid communication with air passages of the heat exchanger, a fan in fluid communication with the exhaust duct for driving a cooling air flow through the air passages of the heat exchanger and into the exhaust duct, and an intermediate duct in fluid communication with an exhaust of the engine and having an outlet positioned within the exhaust duct downstream of the fan and upstream of the outlet of the exhaust duct. The outlet of the intermediate duct is spaced inwardly from a peripheral wall of the exhaust duct. The engine assembly may be configured as an auxiliary power unit. A method of discharging air and exhaust gases in an auxiliary power unit having an internal combustion engine is also discussed.

摘要: A water pump is mounted to a combustion engine having a crank shaft extending in a vehicle widthwise direction, a crankcase supporting the crank shaft and a covering member fastened to an abutting surface at one side surface of the crankcase. The water pump includes: a water pump shaft that is disposed in parallel to the crankshaft and is drivingly coupled with the crankshaft; an impeller fixed to a distal end portion of the water pump shaft; and a pump casing rotatably supporting the water pump shaft. The water pump is disposed laterally inward of the abutting surface in the vehicle widthwise direction. The water pump shaft is inserted through an insertion hole provided in the crankcase. The pump casing is fitted in a mounting hole provided at an outer surface of the crankcase.

The first helical spring and the second helical spring have different rotational helix orientations, and the first helical spring is configured to receive an input shaft and the second helical spring is configured to receive an output shaft, wherein the wrap spring transfers rotational power up to a defined torsional value from the input shaft to the output shaft.

The first flat surface is inclined downward with respect to a horizontal plane as the first flat surface is directed toward the engine side.

摘要: A power transmission roller assembly includes a power transmission roller configured to be brought into contact with the driving roller and the driven roller, a pivot shaft fixed to a vehicle body, a pivot arm arranged radially inside of the power transmission roller and pivotally mounted on the pivot shaft, and a roller support bearing rotatably supporting the power transmission roller. A pair of biasing members are mounted to the pivot arm and bias the roller support bearing to a predetermined position between the driving roller and the driven roller such that the abutment force between the driving roller and the power transmission roller is balanced with the abutment force between the driven roller and the power transmission roller. Sliding members are mounted on respective shafts of the biasing members to extend through the sliding members, and frictional forces are generated between the sliding members and the respective shafts.

摘要: Inventive embodiments are directed to components, subassemblies, systems, and/or methods for continuously variable accessory drives (CVAD). In one embodiment, a skew-based control system is adapted to facilitate a change in the ratio of a CVAD. In another embodiment, a skew-based control system includes a skew actuator coupled to a carrier member. In some embodiments, the skew actuator is configured to rotate a carrier member of a CVT. Various inventive traction planet assemblies can be used to facilitate shifting the ratio of a CVT. In some embodiments, the traction planet assemblies include legs configured to cooperate with the carrier members. In some embodiments, a traction planet assembly is operably coupled to the carrier members. Embodiments of a shift cam and traction sun are adapted to cooperate with other components of the CVT to support operation and/or functionality of the CVT. Among other things, shift control interfaces for a CVT are disclosed.

摘要: A transmission includes an input shaft, and a primary drive gear fixed to the input shaft. The primary gear has a first set of gear teeth. An idler gear is disposed in the transmission and has a second set of gear teeth in meshing engagement with the first set of gear teeth. The transmission also includes a transmission-pump drive gear having a third set of gear teeth in meshing engagement with the second set of gear teeth. The transmission-pump drive gear is configured to transmit power from the input shaft to a transmission pump. A power take-off unit is mounted to a case of the transmission and includes a first unit drive gear having a fourth set of gear teeth in meshing engagement with the second set of teeth. The a first unit drive gear is configured to transmit power from the idler gear to the power take-off.
