摘要： A rotor for use in a turbomachine includes a hub centered on a central axis and having a disk portion and a shaft portion and a blade extending outward from the hub. The hub and the blade together include a plastic substrate and metal plating disposed on at least apportion of an outer surface of the plastic substrate. The plastic substrate has a matrix material and fibers embedded in the matrix material. The fibers have a first coefficient of thermal expansion. The metal plating has a second coefficient of thermal expansion. The fibers are selected such that a bulk coefficient of thermal expansion of the plastic substrate at the outer surface of the plastic substrate substantially matches the second coefficient of thermal expansion of the metal plating.

摘要： An inlet assembly of a nacelle includes an inlet cowl. The inlet cowl includes a lipskin that has a front section which defines the leading edge of the inlet cowl. The front section includes a composite panel and a metallic coating disposed along an exterior surface of the composite panel to protect the composite panel from damage. The lipskin defines perforations that penetrate through the composite panel and the metallic coating at the front section to convey a liquid through a thickness of the lipskin onto an exterior surface of the inlet cowl.

摘要： A filled abradable seal component, an associated method of manufacturing, and a turbomachine including the filled abradable seal component are disclosed. The method includes positioning the abradable seal component including a plurality of honeycomb cells, applying a filler material on the abradable seal component to fill the plurality of honeycomb cells, and curing the filler material at a temperature below 250 degrees Celsius to produce the filled abradable seal component. The filler material includes an abradable material, a binder material, and a fluid catalyst. The abradable material includes at least one of nickel chromium aluminum-bentonite, cobalt nickel chromium aluminum yttrium-polyester, cobalt nickel chromium aluminum yttrium-boron nitride, aluminum silicon-bentonite, aluminum bronze-polyester, nickel graphite, or aluminum silicon-boron nitride. The binder material includes at least one of aluminum, nickel-aluminum, aluminum thiophosphate, or aluminum thiosulfate. The fluid catalyst includes a solvent having hydroxyl groups.

摘要： A seal spacer for a gas turbine engine to provide sealing between a casing wall and a stator vane of the engine. The seal spacer comprises a circumferential body having a slot defined therethrough and configured to receive the stator vane therein. The circumferential body is configured to be disposed between and space apart the engine casing wall from a head of the stator vane when the vane is inserted in the slot and the vane is inserted in the opening in the casing wall. The circumferential body includes a support positioned to be engage and provide a gap between the casing wall and the head when the seal spacer is installed therebetween, and an elastomeric seal portion positioned to engage and compressingly provide sealing the casing wall and the head when the seal spacer is installed therebetween to seal the gap.
