摘要: A deposition device may deposit, on a substrate, a binder layer that includes a first set of magnetic flakes and a second set of magnetic flakes and may cause, when a temperature of the binder layer satisfies a temperature threshold (e.g., a Curie temperature of the first set of magnetic flakes), a magnetic field to be applied to the binder layer to cause the first set of magnetic flakes and the second set of magnetic flakes to be oriented according to the magnetic field. The deposition device may cause, when the temperature of the binder layer ceases to satisfy the temperature threshold, another magnetic field to be applied to the binder layer to cause only the second set of magnetic flakes to be oriented according to the other magnetic field.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for filling cracks in an environmental barrier coating and/or a thermal barrier coating (EBC/TBC). The method comprises locating a component within an enclosure of an apparatus, the component including a substrate having the EBC/TBC thereon, wherein the EBC/TBC includes cracks extending from an exterior surface of the EBC/TBC toward the substrate, reducing pressure within the enclosure to a first pressure that is less than atmospheric pressure, applying a filler slurry to the exterior surface to cover the cracks while the EBC/TBC is exposed to the first pressure, increasing the enclosure to a second pressure that is greater than the first pressure, wherein the second pressure is sufficient to cause the filler slurry on the EBC/TBC to infiltrate into and fill the cracks, and sintering the filler slurry sufficient to cure the filler slurry within the cracks.

摘要: Provided are methods for forming polymer-infiltrated nanoparticle films by using capillary action to draw mobile molecular chains into the pores of a bed of nanoparticles. The chains can spread across the entire bed of nanoparticles. The disclosed methods also provide the formation of patterned polymer-infiltrated nanoparticle film compositions, as well as laterally graded compositions and compositions that feature a polymer gradient through the composition's thickness. Articles can be formed that include a plurality of polymer types infiltrated into the bed of nanoparticles.

摘要: A heat treatment method for improving the mechanical property and the biofunctional stability of a magnesium alloy is provided, comprising: (1) fully annealing an original cold-drawn magnesium alloy AZ31; (2) polishing a surface of the magnesium alloy AZ31 from the step (1) by a waterproof abrasive paper; (3) heating the magnesium alloy AZ31 obtained from the step (2) to a temperature of 330° C. to 350° C. and keeping the temperature for 3 to 4 hours; and (4) cooling the magnesium alloy AZ31 obtained from the step (3) to room temperature. A method for manufacturing a small-peptide-coated biomaterial and an application of the small-peptide-coated biomaterial are further provided.
