摘要: A silica sol dispersed in a nonaqueous solvent, especially a hydrophobic solvent, to improve the compatibility with organic materials, and method for producing the same; the silica sol containing alkali, in which at least two types of alkoxy groups of Si—OR0 and Si—OR1 (provided that R0 is a C1-4 alkyl group, R1 is a C2-10 organic group which arbitrarily has an oxygen atom, and R0 and R1 are not the same chemical group) are present on or near a surface of silane-coated silica particles, the silica particles having a molar ratio (Si—OR1)/(Si—OR0) of 0.17 to 10 are used as dispersoids, and at least one hydrophobic organic solvent selected from the group consisting of ketones, ethers, esters, amides, and hydrocarbons is used as a dispersion medium.

摘要: A method for producing a silica composite particle including a silica particle and at least one compound in which an aluminum atom bonds to an organic group through oxygen. The method includes: (i) providing a silica particle dispersion liquid having a silica particle content of about 20 mass % or more; (ii) mixing and reacting a compound represented by formula (S1) and the silica particle dispersion liquid to obtain a slurry; (iii) providing the at least one compound; and (iv) then mixing and reacting the slurry with the at least one compound to form the silica composite particle.

摘要: Provided are methods for forming polymer-infiltrated nanoparticle films by using capillary action to draw mobile molecular chains into the pores of a bed of nanoparticles. The chains can spread across the entire bed of nanoparticles. The disclosed methods also provide the formation of patterned polymer-infiltrated nanoparticle film compositions, as well as laterally graded compositions and compositions that feature a polymer gradient through the composition's thickness. Articles can be formed that include a plurality of polymer types infiltrated into the bed of nanoparticles.

Uses of the nitric oxide-releasing materials can include coatings for medical devices such as catheters, grafts, and stents; wound gauzes; acne medications; and antiseptic mouthwashes; among others.
