摘要: Methods of inducing or controlling particle motion in suspensions and colloids are described. In one aspect, a method of inducing particle motion in a suspension comprises contacting the suspension with a gas phase to establish at least one interface between the gas phase and continuous phase of the suspension. One or more gases of the gas phase are transferred across the interface to provide a solute gradient in the continuous phase, the solute gradient inducing motion of the suspended particles.

摘要: A fiber-reinforced aerogel is disclosed. The aerogel can include a porous organic polymer matrix and fibers included in the porous organic polymer matrix. The aerogel can include a thermal conductivity of less than or equal to 60 mWIm·K at a temperature of 20° C., at least a bimodal pore size distribution with a first mode of pores having an average pore size of less than or equal to 50 nanometers (nm) and a second mode of pores having an average pore size of greater than 50 nm, and a planar shape having a thickness of 5 millimeters (mm) or less and is capable of being rolled up into a roll, wherein the fibers form a woven fiber matrix.

摘要: A composite aerogel based on graphdiyne motif arrangement and a preparation method thereof are provided by the embodiments of the disclosure, belonging to the technical field of photothermal evaporation materials, including firstly growing graphdiyne on a surface of the graphene oxide to obtain a graphdiyne-coated graphene oxide, taking an additional graphene oxide, adding the additional graphene oxide and the graphdiyne-coated graphene oxide obtained by the coupling reaction into pure water, and ultrasonically mixing to obtain a mixed dispersion, adding a polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution into the mixed dispersion, and transferring to a reaction kettle after ultrasonic mixing, putting the reaction kettle after sealing into a blast drying box for hydrothermal reaction to obtain a gel structure, and cleaning the gel structure, and freeze-drying to obtain a composite aerogel containing graphdiyne-coated reduced graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide.

摘要: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for making a hydrogel comprising a cell, cell nucleus, or one or more components derived from a cell or cell nucleus. A method for making a hydrogel may comprise providing a cell or cell nucleus, a first polymer, wherein the first polymer comprises a plurality of first crosslink precursors, each of the plurality of first crosslink precursors comprising an azide group; providing a second polymer, wherein the second polymer comprises a plurality of second crosslink precursors, each of the plurality of second crosslink precursors comprising an alkyne group; and crosslinking the first polymer and the second polymer via a reaction between a first section of the first crosslink precursors and a second section of the second crosslink precursors, thereby providing the hydrogel comprising the cell or cell nucleus.

摘要: Manufacturing a low-K dielectric organic/inorganic aerogel composite material and its application are provided. The manufacturing method comprises: (1) mixing; (2) hydrolysis; (3) condensation; (4) aging; (5) drying; (6) impregnating polymer solution; (7) phase separation and drying; and (8) cross-linking and curing. The manufacturing method can produce a low-K dielectric organic/inorganic aerogel composite material having a high strength. The low-K dielectric aerogel is in a porous structure, and its porosity is higher than 70% and its density is from 0.12 g/cm3 to 0.45 g/cm3. The dielectric property of the low-K dielectric aerogel decreases along with an increase of its porosity, wherein a dielectric constant thereof is from 1.28 to 1.89, and a dielectric loss thereof is from 0.052 to 0.023. The low-k dielectric aerogel can be used for a dielectric layer in a high-frequency circuit, an insulation layer in a semiconductor device or a microwave circuit in a communication integrated circuit.

摘要: Provided is a method for producing hydrophobic silica aerogel granules and hydrophobic silica aerogel granules produced thereby, the hydrophobic silica aerogel granules having a suppressed level of specific surface area deterioration and scattering properties. In the method for producing the hydrophobic silica aerogel granules, surface modification, gelation, and solvent substitution can be simultaneously performed in one step, thereby decreasing production time and increasing productivity. Also, by adjusting the addition amount of a non-polar organic solvent when proceeding with a reaction, hydrophobic silica aerogel granules with suppressed scattering properties can be produced. In addition, the hydrophobic silica aerogel granules are silica aerogel particles induced to agglomerate with each other through physical bonding, so that there is an advantage in that the granules can be easily changed into a powder form, thereby having excellent industrial applicability.

摘要: A two-step process is provided for forming large photonic single crystals of about 0.1 millimeter and greater via DNA coated colloidal particles. The two-step process generally include decoupling the nucleation and growth steps. In particular, DNA colloidal particles are partitioned in nanoliter droplets formed in a water in oil emulsion using microfluidics. Once a crystal nucleates within a droplet, depletion of particles occurs as the crystal grows inhibit formation of more crystals within the droplet. A small number of droplets containing these seed crystals are then mixed with droplets containing weak DNA coated colloidal particles. The emulsion is then broken and heated at a temperature effective to cause dissociation of the weak particles while the seeds remain stable. The system is further cooled at a temperature effective that the particles stably adhere to the seed crystals resulting in growth while inhibiting nucleation of new crystals.
