摘要: The present disclosure generally relates to alkylated aromatic compounds useful as basestocks and additives for high viscosity applications. In an embodiment is provided an alkylated aromatic compound. In another embodiment is provided a lubricant formulation that includes an alkylated aromatic compound. In another embodiment is provided a lubricant formulation that includes an alkylated aromatic compound, an additive, and optionally, a Group III basestock, Group IV basestock, Group V basestock, or a combination thereof, the Group V basestock being different than the alkylated aromatic compound. In another embodiment is provided a method of forming a lubricant formulation that includes introducing a mPAO, an aromatic compound, and an acid catalyst to a reactor under reactor conditions to form an alkylated aromatic compound; and introducing the alkylated aromatic compound to an additive to form a lubricant formulation.

摘要: A compressor including a housing, a shaft configured to be rotated relative to the housing to compress a refrigerant, a motor configured to drive the shaft, a lubrication system configured to supply lubricant to the compressor, and a bearing configured to support the shaft. The shaft includes a wear-resistant sleeve-like treatment on at least a portion of an outer surface of the shaft adjacent the bearing. The lubricant is a lubricant blend composition that includes two or more lubricants, the two or more lubricants including a first lubricant and a second lubricant. The first lubricant is present at a higher volume percentage than the second lubricant, and the first lubricant includes a higher viscosity than the second lubricant.

摘要: A method of making a urea containing powder by injecting an amine and an isocyanate simultaneously into a mixing chamber is disclosed. The method comprises mixing in a high-pressure impingement mixing device at a pressure of at least 2500 psi for a time less than 10 seconds. The resulting urea containing powders have defined particle sizes and molecular weight distributions as well as a stoichiometric mole ratio of isocyanates and amine functionalities. Methods of making a thickened polyurea containing master batch with the urea containing powders using a shear thickening step, and making a grease by gelling the first or second urea containing powder under heat and in the presence of an oil are also disclosed.

Moreover, methods of manufacture and uses of the microemulsion are disclosed.

摘要: A grease composition is intended primarily for use in constant velocity joins (CV joints), especially ball joints and/or tripod joints, which are used in the drivelines of motor vehicles. The grease composition for use in constant velocity joints comprises at least one base oil, and least one thickener, at least one copper sulfide in an amount of approximately 0.01 wt-% up to approximately 1.5 wt-% of the grease composition, molybdenum disulfide and/or at least one phosphorus-free organic molybdenum complex in an amount of approximately 0.1 wt-% up to approximately 5.0 wt-% of the grease composition. Further, a constant velocity joint comprises the grease composition.

摘要: A method for producing a renewable base oil from a feedstock of biological origin includes providing a feedstock, the feedstock including: 2-95 wt % of a mixture of free fatty acids; 5-98 wt % fatty acid glycerols selected from mono-glycerides, di-glycerides and tri-glycerides of fatty acids; 0-50 wt % of one or more compounds selected from the list consisting of: fatty acid esters of the non-glycerol type, fatty amides and fatty alcohols; a major part of the feedstock being a mixture of free fatty acids and fatty acid glycerols; subjecting all or part of the feedstock to ketonisation reaction conditions where two free fatty acids react to yield a ketone stream, and subjecting the ketone stream to both hydrodeoxygenation and to hydroisomerisation reaction conditions, to yield a deoxygenated and isomerised base oil product stream containing the renewable base oil.
