Abstract:
A composition for inhibiting corrosion and/or removing hydrocarbonaceous deposits in oil and gas applications is provided. The composition comprises an iron sulfide dissolver, an organic solvent, and a corrosion inhibitor.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods for inhibiting the corrosion of metal containments such as carbon-steel pipes used in oil recovery processes, the methods comprising adding urine and/or compositions comprising urine to water sources to form corrosion inhibitor compositions, and contacting metal containments with the corrosion inhibitor compositions. The water sources are for example aqueous solutions that are corrosive to metal containments such as carbon-steel pipes. Compositions comprising urine that provide reduced corrosion or corrosion inhibition are also described. Metal containment assemblages comprising corrosion inhibitor compositions and a metal containment are also described.
Abstract:
To provide a surface treatment solution and treatment method for gold or gold alloy plating that effectively suppresses corrosion of underlying metal or substrate metal from pinholes that develop on the gold or gold alloy plating film.[Solution] A surface treatment solution containing a disulfide compound is brought into contact with a gold or gold alloy plating film. A compound represented by the following formula (2) is preferred as the disulfide compound. X1O3S—R3—S—S—R4—SO3X2 (2) in the formula, R3 and R4 independently represent a linear or branched alkylene group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, cyclic alkylene group having from 3 to 10 carbon atoms, or phenylene group, R3 and R4 independently may be substituted by one or more substituents selected from an alkyl group, halogen atom, hydroxyl group, or alkoxy group, and X1 and X2 represent monovalent cations.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a composition comprising a) at least one N-methyl-N-acylglucamine of formula (I), wherein R1 represents a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon chain with 7 to 21 carbon atoms, one or more organic acids of formula (II) and/or the salts thereof, R2—COOM, wherein R2 represents a linear or branched alkyl group or a linear or branched mono- or poly-unsaturated alkenyl group with 5 to 29 carbon atoms, and M represents hydrogen or one or more cations, wherein the cations are present in charge-equalizing amounts, and c) one or more alkanolamines of formula (III), wherein NR1R2R3R1, R2 and R3 represent hydrogen, a linear or branched alkyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group with 5 to 7 carbon atoms, a linear or branched hydroxyalkyl group with 2 to 5 carbon atoms and 1 or 2 hydroxy groups or a hydroxyether group with 2 to 6 carbon atoms, with the provision that at least one of the groups is a hydroxyalkyl group or a hydroxyether group.
