摘要: This disclosure describes various methods and apparatus for characterizing an additive manufacturing process. A method for characterizing the additive manufacturing process can include generating scans of an energy source across a build plane; measuring an amount of energy radiated from the build plane during each of the scans using an optical sensor; determining an area of the build plane traversed during the scans; determining a thermal energy density for the area of the build plane traversed by the scans based upon the amount of energy radiated and the area of the build plane traversed by the scans; mapping the thermal energy density to one or more location of the build plane; determining that the thermal energy density is characterized by a density outside a range of density values; and thereafter, adjusting subsequent scans of the energy source across or proximate the one or more locations of the build plane.

摘要: A manufacturing method is provided during which a substrate aperture is formed through a substrate of a preform component for a turbine engine using a first machining process. A coating system is applied onto the substrate to provide a coated substrate. A coating aperture is formed through the coating system using a second machining process that is different than the first machining process. The second machining process includes percussion laser drilling. At least the substrate aperture and the coating aperture collectively form a cooling aperture through the coated substrate.

摘要: A device adjustment instrument is provided with a storage unit for storing standard test piece data corresponding to each of a plurality of standard test pieces which can be manufactured by additive manufacturing devices and a standard parameter set for when the standard test pieces are manufactured, a selection unit for selecting standard test piece data that match modeling specification data of a specified object from a plurality of standard test piece data on the basis of the modeling specification data, and an adjustment unit for generating a modeling parameter set for adjusting an operating condition of the additive manufacturing devices on the basis of the selected standard test piece data and the test modeling result data manufactured by the additive manufacturing devices using the standard parameter set corresponding to the standard test piece data.

摘要: A method for repairing a damaged leading or trailing edge region of a metallic turbine blade, which has a suction-side blade wall, a pressure-side blade wall and a leading edge and a trailing edge, includes: removing the damaged leading or trailing edge region, with a cutout being formed; providing a replacement part which can be inserted in form-fitting fashion into the cutout and which restores the intended geometry of the turbine blade; inserting the replacement part in form-fitting fashion into the cutout in a predetermined insertion direction, and cohesively connecting the replacement part to the turbine blade, wherein mechanical connection of the replacement part and turbine blade using separate fastening elements is performed in addition to the cohesive connection.

The braze powder is sintered together and to the substrate during the depositing of the braze powder to provide the substrate with sintered braze material. The substrate and the sintered braze material are heated to melt the sintered braze material and diffusion bond the sintered braze material to the substrate.

摘要: A method and an apparatus for collecting a powdered material after a print job in powder bed fusion additive manufacturing may involve a build platform supporting a powder bed capable of tilting, inverting, and shaking to separate the powder bed substantially from the build platform in a hopper. The powdered material may be collected in a hopper for reuse in later print jobs. The powder collecting process may be automated to increase efficiency of powder bed fusion additive manufacturing.

摘要: An airfoil for a gas turbine engine includes a first portion joined to a second portion along an interface such that at least the first portion establishes an airfoil section and the second portion establishes a root section. The airfoil section includes an airfoil body that extends between leading and trailing edges in a chordwise direction, between pressure and suction sides separated in a thickness direction, and from the root section to a tip portion in a spanwise direction. A recessed region extends inwardly from at least one of the pressure and suction sides. The airfoil body includes at least one rib that bounds a respective pocket within a perimeter of the recessed region. The recessed region and the at least one rib are dimensioned to extend across the interface. A cover skin is coupled to the airfoil body along the at least one rib to enclose the recessed region.
