摘要: According to an aspect of the disclosure, there may be provided a peening apparatus for generating a compressive residual stress on a pipe member including at least one curved round portion and having a hollow inside formed therein in which a first fluid and a second fluid, which is in a gas phase, are accommodated, the apparatus including: a probe which is disposed such that it is submerged in the first fluid supplied to the hollow inside, and which is configured to apply a wave to the first fluid, wherein the first fluid and the second fluid have different acoustic impedances, so that the wave is totally reflected on a reflection surface where the first fluid and the second fluid are in contact, and forms a standing wave, and wherein a cavity generated and grown by the formed standing wave is exploded and emits a shock wave or microjet, which generates a compressive residual stress on the inner surface of the pipe member surrounding the hollow inside.

摘要: A method for manufacturing a turbine wheel comprising casting the turbine wheel from an austenitic nickel-chromium-based superalloy, subjecting the cast turbine wheel to hot isostatic pressing and then subjecting a surface of the hot isostatically pressed turbine wheel to plastic deformation, wherein said hot isostatic pressing is effected at a pressure of 98 to 200 MPa and a temperature of 1160 to 1220° C. for a time period of 225 to 300 minutes. There is further described a hot isostatically pressed cast turbine wheel manufactured from an austenitic nickel-chromium-based superalloy, the turbine wheel having a plastically deformed surface; and a turbocharger incorporating such a turbine wheel.

摘要: Provided is a method for manufacturing a magnetostrictive torque sensor shaft mounting a sensor portion of a magnetostrictive torque sensor. The method includes conducting heat treatment on a shaft material including chrome steel or chrome-molybdenum steel by carburizing, quenching and tempering, and conducting shot peening on the shaft material after the heat treatment at least on a position where the sensor portion is to be mounted. The shot peening is conducted by firing shot with a particle size of not less than 0.6 mm and a Rockwell hardness of not less than 60 at a jet pressure of not less than 0.4 MPa for a jet exposure time of not less than 2 minutes.

摘要: A pin bore is formed on a piston of the internal combustion engine, wherein the piston is connected with a connecting rod through a piston pin, and includes pin bosses through which the pin bore is formed for receiving the piston pin. The piston is casted from aluminum silicon alloy. At least the piston center side portion of the pin bore is formed from the taper hole such that the piston center side is large. Dimple process is applied on the inner surface of the pin bore, wherein the recesses by the dimple process are a lubrication oil reservoir. Also, the first phase silicon crystal in the piston matrix is minimized by the dimple process for forming the minimized layer on the inner surface of the pin bore.

摘要: A high-strength magnesium alloy member is suitable for products in which at least one of bending stress and twisting stress primarily acts. The member has required elongation and 0.2% proof stress, whereby strength and formability are superior, and has higher strength and large compressive residual stress in the vicinity of the surface of a wire rod. In the magnesium alloy member formed as a wire rod in which at least one of bending stress and twisting stress primarily acts, the wire rod includes a surface portion having the highest hardness of 170 HV or more in the vicinity of the surface and an inner portion having a 0.2% proof stress of 550 MPa or more and an elongation of 5% or more, and the wire rod has the highest compressive residue stress in the vicinity of the surface of 50 MPa or more.

摘要: In some examples, a material may be subject to shot peening of a relatively long duration to improve cavitation erosion resistance of the material. For example, the material surface may be shot peened to cause grain reduction and an increase in hardness to a depth of 60 μm or more, while the surface remains relatively smooth. As one example, the method may include treating a surface of austenitic stainless steel by impacting the surface with shot media for a treatment duration of 15 to 40 minutes at a shot peening intensity corresponding to an Almen strip type A intensity of 5A to 10A.

摘要: In a trial peening step, a shot peening process is applied to a back face 40B of a mold 40 in which an opening of a closed-end water cooling hole 42 is formed. Next, in an evaluation step, compressive residual stress and surface roughness of a region shot-peened in the trial peening step are measured and an extent of shot peening treatment in the trial peening step is evaluated based on measurement results. Next, in a peening step, a surface of the water cooling hole 42 in the mold 40 is shot-peened under peening conditions set based on peening conditions for the trial peening step and on evaluation results produced in the evaluation step.
