摘要: A method of additive manufacture suitable for large and high resolution structures is disclosed. The method may include sequentially advancing each portion of a continuous part in the longitudinal direction from a first zone to a second zone. In the first zone, selected granules of a granular material may be amalgamated. In the second zone, unamalgamated granules of the granular material may be removed. The method may further include advancing a first portion of the continuous part from the second zone to a third zone while (1) a last portion of the continuous part is formed within the first zone and (2) the first portion is maintained in the same position in the lateral and transverse directions that the first portion occupied within the first zone and the second zone.

摘要: Head-mounted virtual and augmented reality display systems include a light projector with one or more emissive micro-displays having a first resolution and a pixel pitch. The projector outputs light forming frames of virtual content having at least a portion associated with a second resolution greater than the first resolution. The projector outputs light forming a first subframe of the rendered frame at the first resolution, and parts of the projector are shifted using actuators, such that physical positions of light output for individual pixels occupy gaps between the old locations of light output for individual pixels. The projector then outputs light forming a second subframe of the rendered frame. The first and second subframes are outputted within the flicker fusion threshold. Advantageously, an emissive micro-display (e.g., micro-LED display) having a low resolution can form a frame having a higher resolution by using the same light emitters to function as multiple pixels of that frame.

摘要: An optical system for displaying an image includes a light-guide optical element (LOE) having a coupling-in region and a propagation region, a coupling-out configuration associated with the propagation region of the LOE, an image projector for generating image illumination corresponding to a collimated image, and a beam-multiplication configuration external to the LOE. The beam-multiplier is a transparent plate bonded to the LOE adjacent to the coupling-in region. The transparent plate has a partially-reflective surface between the LOE and the plate, and a reflector at the opposite surface. The partially-reflective surface and the reflector multiply the beam from the projector so as to fully illuminate the propagation region of the LOE with both the collimated image and a conjugate of the collimated image.

The input coupler may receive the rays emitted by the image source and couple the rays into the guide. The output coupler may receive rays propagated along the guide between the guide back side and the guide front side and emit the received rays from the guide front side.

摘要: A shutter includes a plurality of light-guiding devices each of which includes a light collector and a beam expander. The light collector includes a light-guiding plate that has a first end portion and a second end portion opposite to the first end portion in a first direction, and a plurality of light-collecting members that are disposed on the first end portion and that are arranged in the first direction. Each of the light-collecting members has a curved surface that is adapted for reflecting light beams that travel into the light-collecting member so that the light beams travel into the light-guiding plate. The beam expander is disposed on the second end portion of the light-guiding plate. When the light beams travel into the light-guiding plate, the light-guiding plate is adapted for the light beams to reflect therein, and to travel through the second end portion into the beam expander.

摘要: A laser projector includes a laser assembly, a beam combination mirror group and a phase delaying component. The laser assembly includes a red laser light emitting region, a blue laser light emitting region and a green laser light emitting region. Red laser light is polarized in a first direction, green laser light is polarized in a second direction, and blue laser light is polarized in a third direction. The beam combination mirror group combines the red laser light, the blue laser light and the green laser light. The phase delaying component is on a light emitting path of at least one of the red laser light, the blue laser light the green laser light, and changes a polarization direction of the at least one of the red laser light, the blue laser light or the green laser light before being output by the beam combination mirror group.
