摘要: A method of treating contaminated water, such as wastewater, with carboxylated cellulose to remove ammonium and nitrogen-containing impurities is claimed. Carboxylated cellulose extracted by nitro-oxidation has negatively-charged functionality and forms an aggregate when exposed to positively-charged impurities in contaminated water. The aggregate, nitrogen-containing impurities, and by-products from the nitro-oxidation process can be isolated to provide a fertilizer or fertilizer component.

By using such a filler for the separating column (12) in which 123 μmol/g or more of β-cyclodextrin is chemically bonded to the silica matrix, hippuric acid, o-methyl hippuric acid, m-methyl hippuric acid, p-methyl hippuric acid, and mandelic acid can be separated without using a mobile phase containing cyclodextrin.

摘要: A chromogenic absorbent material for an animal litter includes an oxidizing agent responsive to peroxidatic/pseudoperoxidatic activity in an animal excretion or a first catalytic compound generating the oxidizing agent in situ. The material also includes a chromogenic indicator being chromogenically responsive to the oxidizing activity of the oxidizing agent, and an absorptive material which is porous, for absorbing the animal excretion. The absorptive material includes a water-absorbing polysaccharide providing absorptive properties to the chromogenic absorbent material; and may also include a second polysaccharide and a superabsorbent polymer. The material may be obtained in the form of particles having a low density and a high porosity, and is usable in conjunction with an animal litter for detecting various diseases in animals.

摘要: The present invention provides a process for preparing a functionalised polymeric chromatography medium, which process comprises (I) providing two or more non-woven sheets stacked one on top of the other, each said sheet comprising one or more polymer nanofibres, (II) simultaneously heating and pressing the stack of sheets to fuse points of contact between the nanofibres of adjacent sheets, and (III) contacting the pressed and heated product with a reagent which functionalises the product of step (II) as a chromatography medium.

摘要: A composition and method for the removal of water from a water-containing hydrocarbon stream, and a method for the production of a metal/water-soluble polymer composite are provided. The composite includes a water-soluble polymer, such as guar gum, and a metal salt, such as aluminum nitrate or copper sulfate. The ratio of the metal salt to the water-soluble polymer is in the range from about 1:1 to about 5:1 by mass. The water-soluble polymer and the metal salt form a crosslinked material. The method for producing the metal/water-soluble polymer composite includes mixing a non-crosslinked water-soluble polymer with a metal salt and water to form a paste. The paste is then dried.

摘要: A sodium alginate-gelatin based biochar multivariate composite material, a preparation method therefor and a method for removing cadmium in water body are provided and relate to the technical field of biochar adsorbent materials. The sodium alginate-gelatin based biochar multivariate composite material has a high and stable removal efficiency for cadmium divalent cation (Cd2+) in a potential of hydrogen (pH) range of 4-7 in the water body, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 86.25 (milligrams per gram) mg/g. The composite material of the disclosure has good recyclability. After five regeneration tests, the adsorption capacity of the composite material for Cd2+ can still reach 70% of the initial adsorption capacity. The preparation method of the disclosure has simple process, easy control, low manufacturing cost, and is suitable for large-scale production and application.
