摘要: Processes capable of producing bulk materials suitable for use by the horticulture industry, resulting bulk materials produced thereby, and applications for these processes and materials. Preferred bulk materials have physical properties similar to peat moss and comprise individual materials, each at least partially having a twisted, curled, clumped and rolled structure. The individual materials may further comprise small granular particles dispersed throughout the twisted, curled, clumped and rolled structure. The individual materials may be rolled fibers such that the bulk material has physical properties similar to sphagnum peat moss so as to be particularly suitable as, for example, a soil conditioner, an absorbent material, a chemical carrier, or a filtering material. Alternatively, the individual materials may be rolled particles such that the bulk material has physical properties similar to milled peat moss so as to be particularly suitable as propagation media.

摘要: The invention provides preparation of a selenium-water-soluble high-molecular polysaccharide hydrogel and use thereof. The preparation method includes: (1) water solution of polysaccharide and seleno-compound was prepared by heating the mixture with stirring; and (2) the solution was cooled with standing within shaped container to obtain the selenium-polysaccharide composite hydrogel. Plant seeds are sown on the surface of the composite hydrogel and cultivated to obtain selenium-rich plants. Shape-controllable hydrogel could be prepared by recycled hydrogel through high-temperature dissolution followed with cooling to realize the effective utilization of selenium in the hydrogel. Compared with the traditional selenium enrichment method, current method showed advances in prevent of selenium pollution, which normally caused by the application of selenium fertilizers.

摘要: A soil amendment is provided and a method for making the same, where the soil amendment is encasing biochar in a biodegradable material. The biochar encased in the biodegradable material may be either or both treated and untreated (raw) biochar. The biodegradable material encasing the biochar may be sealed to produce a packet or capsule, or deposited on a sheet of biodegradable material. The sheet of biodegradable material may include a biodegradable adhesive, creating a biochar tape on the biodegradable material. In another example the biodegradable material may be immersed in a solution containing biochar to create a soil amendment, for example, to wrap a root ball of a seedling or sapling. The biodegradable material may, for example, be a polymer, wax, oil, or paraffin which is used to create a bead, capsule, or pod of biochar or biochar slurry, or may be a fiber based or polymer based material that can be formed into a shape, such as a liner, container, or a disc.

摘要: There is provided an apparatus for extraction of at least one object from a cavity. The apparatus includes a sleeve including an inflatable section configured to surround the at least one object during inflation; a handle configured to enable a user to hold the sleeve, the handle defining a holding edge of an opening at a first portion of the sleeve; and a handle-mount mounted to a peripheral area around the opening, the handle-mount being for attachment of a pump used for inflating the inflatable section. There is also provided a pressure limitation apparatus configured to operate with a birth assistance device when attached via a conduit.
