The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for mixing and atomizing a hydrocarbon stream using a diluent/dispersion stream. The apparatus comprises an inner conduit having an inlet for receiving the diluent/dispersion stream; an outer conduit having an inlet for receiving the hydrocarbon stream and an outlet for dispensing a mixture comprising the hydrocarbon and the dispersion/diluent streams; said outer conduit concentric to the inner conduit to define at least a first annular space and a second annular space; the first annular space being located downstream of the inlet of the outer conduit, said first annular space enabling formation of a thin film of the hydrocarbon stream between an outer surface of the inner conduit and an inner surface of the outer conduit; the second annular space being located downstream of the first annular space, said second annular space having a width greater than a width of the first annular space; and the inner conduit located at about the second annular space comprises a first set orifices disposed on a periphery thereof for dispensing a first portion of the dispersion/diluent stream into the thin film of hydrocarbon stream to cross-shear the thin film and form the mixture comprising the hydrocarbon and the dispersion/diluent streams.

An apparatus for supplying additives into a coker drum includes an inlet for supplying a hydrocarbon feed stream into the coker drum and conduits along the circumference of walls of the coker drum. Each conduit has an injection nozzle to supply additives inside the coker drum. An injection control system controls the operation of the injection nozzles such that 1) one or more of the injection nozzles placed within a first distance above a vapour liquid interphase of the hydrocarbon feed stream are configured to supply the additives; and 2) supply of the additive discontinues from a particular injection nozzle when a distance between the injection nozzle and the vapour liquid interphase is less than or equal to a second distance. The apparatus optionally includes a mechanical drive system moving at least one of the conduits based on the level of the vapour liquid interphase in the coker drum.

The FCC catalyst additive composition of the present invention is a LPG selective catalyst particles comprising a medium pore zeolite bonded with clay-phosphate-silica-alumina binder. The catalyst of the present invention exhibits improved selectivity towards high value components like propylene and gasoline and suppressing low value components like dry gas and bottoms.

More particularly the present invention relates to a process of cracking heavy hydrocarbon feedstock employing high heat carrier, incorporated with weak acid sites for improving the liquid yield and reducing coke yield. The feedstock is vaporized and brought in contact with a heat carrier material to produce a product stream and separating the product stream from the particulate heat carrier, regeneration of the particulate heat carrier to the extent of 10-30% and collecting a gaseous and liquid product from the product stream.

The present invention relates to a process for the production of high quality synthesis gas rich in hydrogen during the process of upgrading the residual hydrocarbon oil feedstock by rejuvenating the spent upgrading material in Reformer in absence of air/oxygen without supplying external heat source other than the heat generated inside the process during combustion of residual coke deposited on the upgrading material. The present invention further relates to the apparatus used for preparation of syngas wherein said syngas thus produced is used for production of hydrogen gas. Furthermore, the present invention also provides system and method for preparing pure hydrogen from syngas.
