摘要: The invention relates to a silicon-based anode material for a lithium-ion battery, a preparation method therefor, and a battery. The silicon-based negative electrode material is prepared by the compounding of 90 wt %-99.9 wt % of a silicon-based material and 0.1 wt %-10 wt % of carbon nanotubes and/or carbon nanofibers which grow on the surface of the silicon-based material in situ.

摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to methods of making a carbon nanotube hybrid material by depositing a catalyst solution onto a carbon-based material, and growing carbon nanotubes on the carbon-based material such that the grown carbon nanotubes become covalently linked to the carbon-based material through carbon-carbon bonds. The catalyst solution includes a metal component (e.g., iron) and a buffer component (e.g., aluminum) that may be in the form of particles. The metal component of the particle may be in the form of a metallic core or metallic oxide core while the buffer component may be on a surface of the metal component in the form of metal or metal oxides. Further embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to the catalytic particles and carbon nanotube hybrid materials. The carbon nanotube hybrid materials of the present disclosure may be incorporated as electrodes (e.g., anodes or cathodes) in energy storage devices.

摘要: In one aspect, the disclosure relates to CO2-free and/or low-CO2 methods of co-producing hydrogen and solid forms of carbon via natural gas decomposition using microwave radiation. The methods are efficient, self-sustaining, and environmentally benign. In a further aspect, the disclosure relates to recyclable and recoverable catalysts useful for enhancing the disclosed methods, wherein the catalysts are supported by solid forms of carbon. Methods for recycling the catalysts are also disclosed. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present disclosure.

摘要: A method of making an assembly of fused carbon nanostructures that includes providing a plurality of carbon nanostructures, combining the plurality of carbon nanostructures with a plurality of catalyst particles to provide a catalyst-nanostructure assembly, heating the catalyst-nanostructure assembly to a first temperature sufficient to provide at least one etched portion, thereby providing an etched catalyst-nanostructure assembly, the at least one etched portion being etched from at least one of the plurality of carbon nanostructures and proximal to at least one of the plurality of catalyst particles, contacting the etched catalyst-nanostructure assembly with a carbon source, and heating the etched catalyst-nanostructure assembly and the carbon source to a second temperature sufficient to provide at least one carbon bridge.
