摘要: An olefin synthesis plant comprising: a feed pretreatment section configured to pretreat a feed stream; a pyrolysis section comprising one or more pyrolysis reactors configured to crack hydrocarbons in the feed stream in the presence of a diluent to produce a cracked gas stream; a primary fractionation and compression section configured to provide heat recovery from and quenching of the cracked gas stream; remove a component from the cracked gas stream; and compress the cracked gas stream, thus providing a compressed cracked gas stream; and/or a product separation section configured to separate a product olefin stream from the compressed cracked gas stream, wherein the olefin synthesis plant is configured such that, relative to a conventional olefin synthesis plant, more of the energy and/or the net energy required by the olefin synthesis plant and/or one or more sections thereof, is provided by a non-carbon based and/or renewable energy source and/or electricity.

摘要: A hydrocarbon production apparatus includes a reverse shift reaction unit obtaining a synthesis gas by using carbon dioxide and hydrogen, a hydrocarbon production unit producing a hydrocarbon by using the synthesis gas, a gas-liquid separation unit separating a gas component containing hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and a light hydrocarbon and a liquid component containing a hydrocarbon from an effluent from the hydrocarbon production unit, a first separation unit separating hydrogen and carbon dioxide, and a light hydrocarbon from the gas component, and a catalytic reaction unit generating hydrogen and carbon monoxide by using the light hydrocarbon separated by the first separation unit. The reverse shift reaction unit also uses the hydrogen and carbon dioxide separated by the first separation unit. The hydrocarbon production unit also uses the hydrogen and carbon monoxide generated by the catalytic reaction unit.

摘要: A petroleum residue stream is heated and reacted with an oxygen stream and a carbon dioxide stream in a gasification unit to produce syngas. At least a portion of the carbon monoxide is converted into carbon dioxide to produce shifted syngas. At least a portion of the shifted syngas is separated to produce a syngas feed stream. At least a portion of the syngas feed stream is converted into methanol. At least a portion of the methanol is converted into one or more alkenes (olefins). At least a portion of the methanol is reacted with carbon monoxide to produce acetic acid. Carbon dioxide produced in the process can be recycled to the gasification unit to facilitate the production of the syngas.

摘要: A process for the manufacture of a useful product from carbonaceous feedstock of fluctuating compositional characteristics, the process comprising the steps of: continuously providing the carbonaceous feedstock of fluctuating compositional characteristics to a gasification zone; gasifying the carbonaceous feedstock in the gasification zone to obtain raw synthesis gas; sequentially removing ammoniacal, sulphurous and carbon dioxide impurities from the raw synthesis gas to form desulphurised gas and recovering carbon dioxide in substantially pure form; converting at least a portion of the desulphurised synthesis gas to a useful product. Despite having selected a more energy intensive sub-process i.e. physical absorption for removal of acid gas impurities, the overall power requirement of the facility is lower on account of lower steam requirements and thereby leading to a decrease in the carbon intensity score for the facility.

The syngas stage (A) primarily includes electrically heated reverse water gas shift (e-RWGS) section. Additionally, an electrically-heated steam methane reforming (e-SMR) section (II) can be arranged in parallel to the e-RWGS section (I). The plant makes effective use of various streams; in particular CO2 and H2. A method for producing a product stream, such as a hydrocarbon product stream is also provided.

摘要: Ammonia, methanol, Fischer Tropsch products, and derivatives thereof are made by using hydrogen and oxygen supplied from an electrolyzer that is at least partially powered by renewable power, resulting in green process and systems that produce green products disclosed herein. A process using biomass and renewable energy includes producing an unshifted syngas from biomass and oxygen in a gasification unit, introducing water into an electrolyzer to produce an oxygen product and a hydrogen product, and introducing the oxygen product to the gasification unit. The electrolyzer is powered by renewable energy, and the oxygen product supplies at least a portion of the oxygen to the gasification unit.
