Abstract: Methods and systems for enhancing hydrocarbon processing in a fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit by introducing a renewable feedstock into the FCC unit at alternative locations of the FCC unit to increase residence time and promote a higher degree of FCC feedstock cracking. The renewable feedstock may include one or more of plastic-derived pyrolysis oil or plastic-derived hydrocarbons, biomass-derived pyrolysis oil, municipal waste-derived pyrolysis oil, vegetable based feedstock, animal fat feedstock, algae oil, sugar-derived hydrocarbons, or carbohydrate-derived hydrocarbons. The alternative locations of the FCC unit may include one or more of FCC reactor catalyst bed, an FCC catalyst stripper, at a nozzle located downstream of a gas oil injection point, or at a nozzle located upstream of the gas oil injection point.

Abstract: A system for processing a selected feedstock using a catalyst includes a reactor, a catalyst recovery system, and a conduit. The reactor receives the catalyst and the selected feedstock. A reaction between the selected feedstock and the catalyst generates a spent catalyst. The catalyst recovery system processes the spent catalyst. The conduit connects the reactor to the catalyst recovery system and has a lateral section. The spent catalyst flows from the reactor through a flow space defined by an inner wall of the lateral section to the catalyst recovery system. The system also includes a fluidizer positioned at the lateral section. The fluidizer includes at least one nozzle. The at least one nozzle is completely inside the flow space. The at least one nozzle forms and directs a jet of a fluidizing agent into the spent catalyst in the lateral section.

Abstract: A process for catalytic cracking of hydrocarbon oils includes the step of contacting a hydrocarbon oil feedstock with a catalytic cracking catalyst in a reactor comprising a dilute-phase transport fluidized bed and a fast fluidized bed connected in series for reaction. In the fast fluidized bed, the axial solid fraction ε of the catalyst is controlled within the range of about 0.1 to about 0.2. When used for catalytic cracking of hydrocarbon oil feedstocks, particularly heavy feedstock oils, the process and system show lower yields of dry gas and coke, and good product distribution.

Abstract: A process for producing an anti-erosion coating on an inner or outer metal wall of a chamber of a fluid catalytic cracking unit, comprising: (i) the shaping of a honeycomb metal anchoring structure, said anchoring structure being formed from a plurality of strips connected in pairs by joining assembly portions of these strips so as to form a plurality of cells between two adjacent strips, (ii) the fastening of said anchoring structure by welding to said metal wall, so that each cell of the anchoring structure is welded to the wall of the chamber at least at the junctions between the contiguous assembly portions of two adjacent strips, and (iii) the insertion of a composite material into the cells from the metal wall and at least up to the upper longitudinal edge of each strip.

Abstract: Process for the fluidized-bed catalytic cracking of a weakly coking feedstock having a Conradson carbon residue equal to or less than 0.1% by weight and a hydrogen content equal to or greater than 12.7% by weight, comprising at least a step of cracking the feedstock, a step of separating/stripping the effluents from the coked catalyst particles and a step of regenerating said particles, the process being characterized in that at least one coking, carbonaceous and/or hydrocarbonaceous effluent having a content of aromatic compounds of greater than 50% by weight, comprising more than 20% by weight of polyaromatic compounds, is recycled to homogeneously distributed and weakly coked catalyst, before regeneration, in order to adjust the delta coke of the process.
