Abstract: A system and method for charging a chargeable device is provided. The system can include a wireless charger including a wireless power transmitter d configured to generate a wireless charging field in at least one charging region. The wireless charger further includes a transceiver configured to communicate with the chargeable device. The wireless charger further includes a controller configured to facilitate avoidance of cross connection of the chargeable device with the wireless charger and at least one other wireless charger by initiating a disconnection of a communication link between the wireless charger and the chargeable device based at least in part on a comparison of a detected power level of the wireless charger to a predetermined level indicative of saturation.

Abstract: A central computer system receive a voice input comprising a motorized transport unit command from a system user via a particular user interface unit that is associated with a particular motorized transport unit at a shopping facility. In response the central computer system transmits to the user interface unit a motorized transport unit instruction that corresponds to the motorized transport unit command, such that the user interface unit can then provide that motorized transport unit instruction to the motorized transport unit for execution by the motorized transport unit. By one approach these components can interact with one another to facilitate a verbally-based authentication procedure by which the system user is associated with the motorized transport unit.

In some embodiments, a shopping facility personal assistance system comprises: a plurality of motorized transport units located in and configured to move through a shopping facility space; a plurality of user interface units, each corresponding to a respective motorized transport unit during use of the respective motorized transport unit; and a central computer system having a network interface such that the central computer system wirelessly communicates with one or both of the plurality of motorized transport units and the plurality of user interface units, wherein the central computer system is configured to control movement of the plurality of motorized transport units through the shopping facility space based at least on inputs from the plurality of user interface units.

Abstract: A system is provided that uses using telemetry data based on a patient habit information or patient monitoring. One or more patient monitoring devices has a unique patient ID, with personalized patient information. A patient monitoring device includes an application for monitoring exercise activity of a patient. ID circuitry is at the patient monitoring device, which includes ID storage and a communication system that reads and transmits the unique ID from an ID storage. A power source and a pathway system routes signals through the circuitry. A telemetry system is in communication with the patient monitoring device and includes a database of patient ID's which is in communication with the patient monitoring device and analyzes patient information based on the patient ID. The telemetry system receives exercise-related information directly or indirectly from the monitoring device that indicates an amount or type of exercise performed by the patient.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a communication method, a power adaptor, and a terminal. The method includes: receiving, by a terminal, handshake information from a power adaptor before the terminal receives a charging current from the power adaptor; determining, by the terminal, an initial charging parameter according to the handshake information; and sending, by the terminal, the initial charging parameter to the power adaptor to instruct the power adaptor to charge the terminal according to the initial charging parameter. In the embodiments of the present disclosure, before the power adaptor charges the terminal, the terminal receives the handshake information from the power adaptor, and determines the initial charging parameter according to the handshake information.

Abstract: Because a rechargeable battery has an increased number of uses (e.g., cycles), the battery's internal impedance can increase and the efficiency of the battery can become degraded. This internal resistance can cause cutoff voltage thresholds and cutoff current thresholds to prematurely stop a phase of battery charging, as these cutoff values can be based on low-cycle count batteries. New cutoff values can, instead, be based on battery impedance. Use of an adjusted cutoff current threshold during a constant voltage cycle can increase the capacity of high-cycle count batteries. Use of an adjusted cutoff voltage threshold in step charging can increase the charging speed of high-cycle count batteries. These increases in efficiency by using adjusted cutoff values can increase as the battery is further high-cycle count, in comparison with low-cycle count cutoff values used with high-cycle count batteries.

Abstract: A power-regulating charger is an apparatus used to manage the flow of electrical power to the battery of a mobile computing device. To accomplish this, the power-regulating charger includes an electrical plug, an output terminal, a shutoff switch, a microcontroller, and a wireless communication module. The electrical plug is a male connection terminal used to connect the power-regulating charger to an external power supply. The output terminal is an electrical terminal used to transfer power from the power-regulating charger into the connected mobile computing device. The shutoff switch is electrically connected between the electrical plug and the output terminal and is used to open the circuit between these two components. The microcontroller is a processing device that directs the shutoff switch to enable or inhibit the transfer of power. The wireless communication module receives commands that are wirelessly transmitted to the power-regulating charger from the mobile computing device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for charging an electric battery of a vehicle are provided. The vehicle includes a battery for powering an electric motor of the vehicle. A controller of the vehicle is provided to interface with a battery and to enable control of charging of the battery. The vehicle includes a communications interface for enabling wireless communication with a server, and the server is configured to manage a plurality of user accounts for users. The server is one of a plurality of servers, and the servers providing access to cloud services regarding vehicle use and metrics.
