Abstract: A vehicle includes a chassis, an engine coupled to the chassis, a primary electrical system, and an auxiliary electrical system. The primary electrical system is configured to power one or more electrical loads associated with operation of the vehicle when the engine is running The primary electrical system includes a primary alternator and a primary battery. The auxiliary electrical system includes an auxiliary alternator configured to generate electrical power, a battery system electrically coupled to the auxiliary alternator and configured to store at least a portion of the electrical power generated by the auxiliary alternator, and an inverter coupled to the battery system. The inverter is configured to at least one of (a) charge the battery system, (b) power a direct current load, and (c) power an alternating current load.

Abstract: In a driving device for changing a semiconductor switching element, having an on-off control terminal, between an on state and an off state according to a power supply voltage input thereto, a constant-current driver generates a constant current based on the power supply voltage. The constant-current driver performs one of charging and discharging of the on-off control terminal of the semiconductor switching element based on the generated constant current so as to change the semiconductor switching element from one of the on state and off state to the other thereof. A rate varying unit adjusts, based on correlation information between the power supply voltage and the constant current, a value of the constant current so as to vary a rate of changing the semiconductor switching element from one of the on state and the off state to the other thereof.

Abstract: In the present invention, the connection between an external power supply and a unit for detecting welding of a relay is disestablished at least when a short circuit is detected, thereby preventing the short circuit from being falsely detected in the event that the short circuit and the welding of the relay can both be detected. A device for detecting welding of a relay detects welding of a relay provided to a path via which a cell is charged by an external power supply. Welding of a power-supply-side relay or a ground-side relay is detected on the basis of a current flowing disproportionately more toward the external power supply than the power-supply-side relay or ground-side relay when a control unit has deactivated the power-supply-side relay or ground-side relay during an interrupting in charging. A disconnecting switch establishes or disestablishes the connection between the external power supply and a weld-detection switch.

Abstract: A vehicle stability control system includes a signal collection sensor and a vehicle controller (10). The signal collection sensor is configured to collect a vehicle condition information parameter, and the vehicle controller (10) is configured to calculate a control yaw moment according to the vehicle condition information parameter. The control yaw moment is used to cancel a difference between an estimated yaw moment and an actual yaw moment. The vehicle controller (10) is further configured to determine according to the vehicle condition information parameter whether the vehicle (100) is in a stable region or a non-stable region in the case of tire blow-out, and allocate the control yaw moment to four wheels (101) according to a vehicle stability condition, thus implementing vehicle stability control. A vehicle stability control method and a vehicle (100) with the vehicle stability control system are also disclosed.

Abstract: A vehicle traction battery assembly may include a traction battery and a battery tray. The traction battery is for powering a portion of an electrified vehicle. The battery tray is for supporting the traction battery and defines a coolant channel for distributing coolant in a first direction and a second direction. Battery cells of the traction battery are arranged with the battery tray such that the first direction and the second direction are oriented perpendicular relative to a longitudinal face of one of the battery cells. A plate may be secured to the battery tray without mechanical fasteners to retain coolant within the coolant channel. The plate may be made of aluminum and the battery tray may be die cast aluminum. An inlet channel may extend from an inlet to the coolant channel and may be disposed between a pair of openings defined by the battery tray.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling the operating speed and the torque of an electric motor using an operational model are described. An operational model for the electric motor, including a plot of engine performance parameters, is used for reference, and a most efficient output path, which may pass through an optimal operation region in the operational model, is selected. The most efficient output path may be determined, for example, according to locations of a current output state and a to-be-reached target state in the operational model, enabling the operating state of the motor to reach the target state from the current operating state. By selecting a more efficient output path, the operating efficiency of the motor may be optimized, the life of a battery improved and/or the operating mileage of the vehicle may be increased, without significantly reducing the driving experience.

Abstract: This application discusses various ways to adjust the performance of a variable input control in accordance with previous use data. In some embodiments, the previous use data can be associated with particular users of the variable input control. In this way, a response provided by the user input control can be adjusted to accommodate particular patterns of use on a user by user basis. In some embodiments, the variable input control can take the form of an accelerator pedal of a vehicle. Performance of the accelerator pedal can be adjusted by changing an amount of engine power provided for a particular accelerator pedal position. The adjustment can arrange commonly utilized power settings in the middle of the accelerator pedal range of motion to make manipulation of the accelerator pedal more comfortable and convenient for each user of the accelerator pedal.
