Abstract: A system and apparatus for selectively limiting user control of a mobile electronic device are provided. In an embodiment, the apparatus may be a case sized to receive a mobile electronic device, the case having a locking means to at least partially secure an opening thereof. When engaged, the locking means may be physically impenetrable by the user of the mobile electronic device and may further be configured to engage and disengage in the presence of one or more pre-determined conditions. For example, the lock may engage when the case is detected within a certain geographical region or even during a specified time. It is contemplated that providing disclosed systems and apparatuses may reduce undesirable behavior at communal events by eliminating distractions posed by mobile electronic devices and preventing unauthorized recordings, which together may enhance overall engagement at and enjoyment of such events.

Abstract: A network system for accessing situation related information is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes a network connection for receiving an indication of an occurrence of a situation; a situational network formed based on the occurrence of the situation, the situational network including a plurality of participant devices determined to be geographically proximate to the situation, each of the participant devices corresponding to a participant in the situational network; a second network connection for presenting a roll call query to each of the plurality of participant devices soliciting a reply related to a status of the participant; a plurality of network connections established for receiving a status response from the participant devices; and a database for aggregating the status responses from responsive participants into a roll call list.

Abstract: Methods and techniques are described for supporting location services for a user equipment (UE) that is using Narrowband Internet of Things radio access or Cellular Internet of Things features to access a wireless network. The techniques include enabling support for a last known location of a UE, using previously obtained location measurements, when a UE is not reachable from a wireless network for positioning. The techniques also include limiting positioning protocol interaction between a UE and a location server via a reduced maximum message size, reduced message volume and longer response and retransmission timers. The techniques further include enabling a UE to obtain location measurements when not connected to a wireless network, enabling periodic and triggered location of a UE in which a UE evaluates location triggers while not connected to a wireless network, enabling use of deferred location and enabling improved location security.

Abstract: Autonomous and manually operated vehicles are integrated into a cohesive, interactive environment, with communications to each other and to their surroundings, to improve traffic flow while reducing accidents and other incidents. All vehicles send/receive messages to/from each other, and from infrastructure devices, enabling the vehicles to determine their status, traffic conditions and infrastructure. The vehicles store and operate in accordance with a common set of rules based upon the messages received and other inputs from sensors, databases, and so forth, to avoid obstacles and collisions based upon current and, in some cases, future or predicted behavior. Shared vehicle control interfaces enable the AVs to conform to driving activities that are legal, safe, and allowable on roadways. Such activities enable each AV to drive within safety margins, speed limits, on allowed or legal driving lanes and through allowed turns, intersections, mergers, lane changes, stops/starts, and so forth.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing inter-vehicle communication are disclosed. The method includes receiving, at a fleet management system, operating data from one or more self-driving vehicles via a communication network, and operating the fleet management system to determine a characteristic of a set of vehicles of one or more self-driving vehicles satisfies at least one communication condition. In response to determining the set of vehicles satisfies the at least one communication condition, the fleet management system can operate to select a stored data portion from a manager storage unit based at least on the characteristic of the set of vehicles; and transmit the data portion to the set of vehicles via the communication network. A method of providing inter-vehicle communication between one or more self-driving vehicles is also disclosed.

Abstract: An example implementation involves a media playback system that includes one or more playback devices that are controllable by the mobile device while the mobile device is joined to the media playback system. The mobile device may join the media playback system over one or more communication paths via a cellular network from the mobile device to the media playback system. The example implementation may involve detecting that the mobile device is outside of a threshold proximity to the media playback system while the mobile device is joined to the media playback system. Based on detecting that the mobile device is outside of the threshold proximity to the media playback system, the mobile device may disconnect from the media playback system.

The user computing device is configured to transmit to a request for parking time, receive a purchase confirmation, and monitor a remaining purchased parking time which is synchronized to a parking timer countdown for a particular parking space where a user has parked that is being monitored by a particular one of the plurality of parking space monitors.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media configured for enabling content sharing between users of wearable extended reality appliances are provided. In one implementation, the computer readable medium may be configured to contain instructions to cause at least one processor to establish a link between a first wearable extended reality appliance and a second wearable extended reality appliance. The first wearable extended reality appliance may display first virtual content. The second wearable extended reality appliance may obtain a command to display first virtual content via the second wearable extended reality appliance, and in response, this content may be transmitted and displayed via the second extended reality appliance. Additionally, the first wearable extended reality appliance may receive second virtual content from the second wearable extended reality appliance, and display said second virtual content via the first wearable extended reality appliance.
