摘要： Mobile device cases are provided which, in a first embodiment, selectively limit a user's ability to control the user's own mobile electronic device. The case includes front and rear portions joined together and defining therein an opening for receiving a mobile electronic device, such as a mobile phone. A locking mechanism is provided for selectively securing the opening in a first locked position to prevent operational access to the mobile electronic device by the user until a predetermined condition is met. The case includes an indicia of time visible to the user during the period of time of prevented operational access. In a further embodiment, a case is provided with first and second polymeric shells each having an interior and an exterior surface thereon and connected together by at least one hinge portion. The first and second shell portions form a cavity of sufficient size to cover a mobile electronic device sufficiently to prevent access by its user. Tamper resistant and ultrasonic sensor defeating mobile device case embodiments are also contemplated by this invention.

The privacy/security apparatus includes a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) that can receive the input from the microphone and provide the input to the speaker or process the microphone input prior to providing speaker, and seed to generate a masking signal provided to one or more speakers with an output that is played to one or more microphones of a portable communication device. Further, the privacy/security apparatus includes a microprocessor configured and arranged to: i. load software on the DSP, and ii. provide control of a user interface that controls at least some functions of the apparatus.

The device has a body assembly including a front face arranged to be directed toward an operator of the device when held in a text communicating orientation. A display screen and a text-input keyboard are included and are each exposed at the front face of the body assembly. The keyboard has a plurality of keys that include a set of alphabetic keys with which either QWERTY-, QWERTZ- AZERTY- or Dvorak-arranged alphabetic characters are associated. An integrated camera assembly is also included that is configured for taking photographs and the communication device enabled to wirelessly communicate photographs taken with the camera assembly to a remote receiver. The camera assembly includes a photo-initiating actuator having an actuated position and an unactuated position and at least one of a selective enablement device or a selective disablement device.

A phone controller implements and responds to instructions from the user interface. Similarly, in the event of an incoming call connection request received via any one of the connection means, the phone controller enables the connection of the call. The user may choose to accept or reject the connection using the interface. The handling of an incoming or outgoing call is determined by a connection routing engine. The connection routing engine comprises an identification unit, a rules unit, a comparison unit and an enabling unit.
