For instance, a method may include, while attempting to pick up the user and prior to the user entering an vehicle, inputting a current location of the vehicle and map information into a model in order to identify a type of communication action for communicating a location of the vehicle to the user; enabling a first communication based on the type of the communication action; determining whether the user has responded to the first communication from received sensor data; and enabling a second communication based on the determination of whether the user has responded to the communication.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can determine a first utility metric associated with a region and first autonomous vehicle eligibility criteria, wherein the first utility metric is determined based on a first plurality of rides and a subset of the first plurality of rides that can be successfully executed within the region based on the first autonomous vehicle eligibility criteria. A second utility metric associated with the region and second autonomous vehicle eligibility criteria can be determined, wherein the second utility metric is determined based on a second plurality of rides and a subset of the second plurality of rides that can be successfully executed within the region based on the second autonomous vehicle eligibility criteria. An autonomous vehicle associated with the first autonomous vehicle eligibility criteria can be selected to drive in the region based on a comparison of the first utility metric and the second utility metric.

Abstract: A delivery system includes a database configured to store information of a customer where the information includes a default payment method, a communication system configured to communicate with an autonomous vehicle and with a device of the customer, where the device includes a display screen having a button to summon an autonomous vehicle, at least one processor, and a memory storing instructions. The instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the delivery system to receive an indication via the communication system that the button on the device of the customer has been clicked, and instruct the autonomous vehicle to travel to a location of the customer.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method to provide collaboration between a group of vehicles. The method includes linking two or more vehicles into a group, wherein each vehicle is partially automated, includes a plurality of sensors, and are performing a common task. The method further includes generating, for each vehicle, a 360 degree view of the vehicle with data from the plurality of sensors. The method includes aggregating the 360 degree view for each vehicle into a group view, that includes all the grouped vehicles. The method includes displaying the group view on an augmented reality (AR) device a, where the group view includes a relative location for each vehicle in the group. The method includes applying a set of rules to the group of vehicles, wherein the rules provide instructions to each vehicle how to operate within the group, where the set of rules is configured to complete the task.

Abstract: A control circuit of a first vehicle may transmit an invitation for a second vehicle to join a vehicle platoon with the first vehicle. The vehicle platoon may include a plurality of vehicles for traveling. The invitation may include one or more travel parameters. The control circuit may receive a response to the invitation for the second vehicle to join the vehicle platoon, the response indicating one or more characteristics of the second vehicle. The control circuit may determine that the second vehicle is to be included into the vehicle platoon based on the one or more characteristics of the second vehicle. The control circuit may, in response to determining that the second vehicle is to be included in the vehicle platoon, generate instructions for the second vehicle to join the vehicle platoon. The control circuit may output the instructions for the second vehicle to join the vehicle platoon.
