After tape is applied, means for applying pressure and cooling operate to permanently set the tape.

摘要: A method and apparatus for making bag-type packages from strip web material in which a lead end portion of strip web material is formed around a forward end portion of a mandrel and the sleeve is advanced with the mandrel during at least a portion of the forward stroke of the mandrel. A sleeve opening device on the lead end of the mandrel is extended through the end of the sleeve to open the sleeve and the mandrel is retracted and transversely sealed and severed at a location inwardly of its open end to form a bag. A turret is provided for gripping the open end of the bag at a bag loading station and transferring the bag with its open end up sequentially to a bag filling station and to a top closing and sealing station.

摘要: Apparatus for forming a seal between layers of a carton of thermoplastic coated paperboard material and the like wherein the thermoplastic material in the area to be sealed serves as the sealant and is activated to flow by frictional heat generated by a vibration welding horn and is then allowed to cool and set under pressure to form the seal between the layers. The carton first moves to an activating station wherein the layers to be sealed are engaged on opposite surfaces by a vibrating horn and a back-up means for a time sufficient to activate the thermoplastic material to flow. The carton is then carried to one or more clamping and sealing stations at a different location from the activating station with the thermoplastic material in the activated state. The layers to be sealed with the activated thermoplastic is then engaged on opposite surfaces by a pressure pad and a back-up means for a predetermined period of time to permit the activated thermoplastic to cool and set and form a seal.

摘要: A method and apparatus adapted for automatically and continuously forming a completely sealed package having fin type seals and made from a heat-sealable wrapping foil. The process basically embodies the steps of holding a portion of the foil adjacent the article to be packaged, folding the remaining portion of the foil about the article to be packaged so that opposing side edges of the foil are moved towards each other, heat sealing together the opposed side edges of the foil to form a side fin seal, forming a bottom fin from the foil for the package, heat sealing the bottom fin to form a bottom fin seal, forming a top fin from the foil for the package, and heat sealing the top fin to form a top fin seal.

The liquid additive may contain fragrance, malodor control agents and fragrance release inhibitors. Also, described is a method of producing trash bags with liquid additives applied by the application of micro-droplets.

The present fusion-bonding process comprises steps of disposing a heat generation element generating heat by absorbing infrared laser, on an opposite surface (8c) of the plastic film (8a, 8b) from the port member (16), or between the port member (16) and the plastic film (8a, 8b), pressing a press member (30a, 30b), which allows infrared laser to be transmitted therethrough, from a side of the plastic film (8a, 8b), and irradiating the infrared laser (L) to the heat generation element (24a, 24b) through the press member (30a, 30b).

摘要: The invention relates to a method for sealing a fibre-based material (1, 4) to a counter-surface to be bonded to it by melting polymer present at the sealing point. In accordance with the invention, the sealing is performed by directing a laser beam (8) through the fibre layer (4) of the material to a radiation-absorbing pigment disposed in the sealing area (9), with the absorption heat melting the polymer (5) and generating the sealing. The method allows sealing of plastic-coated paper or board to itself, to another plastic counter-surface or also to paper or board without any plastic coating. It is also possible to seal uncoated paper or board to paper or board containing plastic, such as plastic-coated paper or board, or to a plastic film. The absorptive pigment, e.g. carbon black, may be admixed in the plastic coating of the board or paper or the plastic film formed on the counter-surface, or the pigment may be located on the surface of the material to be sealed or its fibre layer, or on the counter-surface to which the material is sealed, e.g. as a component of printing ink applied to the counter-surface.

摘要: A bottom forming apparatus having a mandrel cap and a sealing plate configured to create a carton with an elevated bottom. The present invention alleviates the problem of cartons having soggy bottoms since the point of absorption, the raw paperboard edge, is elevated above the moisture which may be present during distribution from the packaging machine to the retailer. The elevated bottom portion is actually inverted into the carton with planar portions resting on the surface to support the carton. The sealing plate has a multitude of elevated portions and the mandrel cap has a recess and an angled edge for elevating the raw paperboard edge. The various embodiments of the sealing plate are able to elevate most carton bottom configurations including the standard TETRA REX.RTM. carton and the TETRA REX.RTM. sixth panel with skived edge carton.
