    摘要: A method for manufacturing a protector for a portable electronic device includes following steps. A substrate having a first surface, a second surface and an edge is provided. A first sheet having a first sheet surface and an edge portion is provided, wherein the first sheet surface includes a first hot-melt adhesive. The first surface of the substrate is caused to contact the first sheet surface, wherein the edge portion protrudes the edge. The edge portion is folded along the edge to enable the first hot-melt adhesive to contact the second surface of the substrate. A second sheet having a second sheet surface including a second hot-melt adhesive is provided. The second surface of the substrate and the edge portion is caused to contact the second sheet surface. A thermocompression bonding is performed to bond the first sheet, the second sheet and the substrate together.

    摘要: In a cup sealing system including a cup former and at least one burner for sealing a cup bottom seam where a cup side wall blank is mated with a bottom disk, with one portion of the side wall extending beyond the bottom disk, an improvement wherein at least one burner includes a burner head with a plurality of circumferentially arranged flame nozzles and a pilot flame aperture, the pilot flame aperture adapted to be located axially adjacent the one portion of the cup side wall; a flame ignitor/sensor positioned adjacent the flame aperture; and a combustion chamber which extends from a forward edge of the burner at the flame nozzles to a location axially beyond the container side wall to thereby achieve uniform heating of the extended portion of the cup side wall. The burner head also includes a pair of relatively movable sleeves adapted to create an annular pilot flame ring gap on start-up.

    摘要: Containers formed of a flexible sheet of material capable of being sealed for closing off the interior of the container from the ambient atmosphere. The sheet material is resistant to tearing. The container comprises a mouth portion including a peel strip or layer fixedly secured to the inner surface of the container and extending substantially the entire length of the mouth portion, with adjacent portions of the peel strip or layer being in releaseable engagement with each other. The engagement forms an air-tight interfacial seal which is readily openable by peeling the engaging portions of the peel strip or layer from each other to provide ready access to the interior of the container without tearing the sheet material forming the container.Some containers are formed in accordance with the method for applying the peel strips transversely across a web of sheet material and heat sealing the strips to the material at longitudinally spaced locations and thereafter severing the web into sections which are formed into the container. Other containers are formed by use of a peel layer on the entire inner surface of the container. The peelable interfacial seal for such containers is formed by heat sealing the same within a desired temperature range. The remaining seams of the container are permanent and are formed by heat sealing the same at temperatures in excess of those used in making the peelable seal.

    摘要: Containers formed of a flexible sheet of material capable of being sealed for closing off the interior of the container from the ambient atmosphere. The sheet material is resistant to tearing and includes an inner surface and an outer surface. The container comprises a mouth portion including a peel strip or layer fixedly secured to the inner surface of the material and extending substantially the entire length of the mouth portion, with adjacent portions of the peel strip or layer being in releasable engagement with each other. The engagement forms an air-tight interfacial seal at the mouth which is readily openable by peeling the engaging portions of the peel strip or layer from each other to provide ready access to the interior of the container without tearing the sheet material forming the container. Thus, the container can be readily reclosed by conventional mechanical means, such as folding, tin ties, etc.Some containers are formed in accordance with the method for applying the peel strips transversely across a web of sheet material and heat sealing the strips to the material at longitudinally spaced locations and thereafter severing the web into sections which are formed into the container. Other containers are formed by use of a peel layer on the entire inner surface of the container. The peelable interfacial seal for such containers is formed by heat sealing the same within a desired temperature range. The remaining seams of the container are permanent and are formed by heat sealing the same at temperatures in excess of those used in making the peelable seal.

    摘要: A floating sealing pressure means for sealing carton ends, and which eliminates undesirable loading of a carton mandrel support system in a packaging machine due to carton and sealing pressure. The floating sealing pressure means is disclosed in a carton bottom sealing embodiment which employs a pressure pad for sealing engagement with the bottom end of a carton, and a reaction or counter pressure pad. The pressure pad and reaction pad are movably supported so as to function like a "C" clamp, so as to allow the pressure pad and reaction pad to operate in alignment with each other and locate on a carton mandrel so as to impart substantially no load into the supporting structure of the mandrel during a carton bottom sealing operation. The pressure pad and reaction pad are powered by a toggle actuator means which balances the loading on the supporting system of the mandrel.

    摘要: Apparatus is disclosed for use with a conventional bottom closure folding machine for ultrasonically sealing folded carton bottom closures having at least two differing thicknesses or laminates comprising, in part, a unique sealing horn and multi-surface mandrel pad arrangement which makes possible the ultrasonic sealing of a laminated bottom closure of varying thicknesses for a container composed of thermoplastic double coated foldable material such as, for example, a polyethylene double coated paperboard carton. The sealing horn comprises a substantially conventional body portion surmounted by a face having a recessed portion and a raised portion for forcibly engaging the folded carton bottom closure and forming an ultrasonic seal at predetermined critical areas of the bottom closure. The multi-surface mandrel pad has a multiplicity of surfaces which lie in at least two distinct planes and which are shaped to receive and engage sections of tabs and panels of the folded carton bottom closure so that when the sealing horn and multisurface mandrel pad are forcibly urged together, the force exerted on the folded carton bottom closure over the area of contact between the face portion of the sealing horn and the surface of the folded carton bottom closure is substantially uniform. The multi-surface mandrel pad, through its multiplicity of surfaces, receives and engages sections of tabs and panels of the infolded surface of the folded carton bottom closure during sealing thereby preventing excessive vibration of those portions of the carton bottom closure which are not in forcible engagement with the raised portion of the sealing horn face during sealing thereby avoiding unwanted "burn through".
