摘要： A bag having a closeable flap portion, and a method of manufacturing same, are disclosed. The bag includes first and second panel portions, and a top flap portion extending from and integral to the second panel portion along a fold line adjacent to an opening between the first and second panel portions. The inner surfaces of the first and second panel portions have surface characteristics rendering them capable of being firmly heat sealed together along the side edges thereof, while the outer surfaces of at least the second panel portion and of the flap portion along the side edges have surface characteristics rendering them capable of only being weakly heat sealed together. The flap portion is initially folded onto the outer surface of the second panel portion and is held thereinplace along the side edges by means of a weakened seam achieved by virtue of heat sealing of the side edges of the first and second panel portions and the flap portion. The end of the flap portion remote from the fold line is adapted to be pulled away from the outer surface of the second panel portion to break the weakened seal between the flap portion and the second panel portion while maintaining the integrity of the side edge seams along the inner surfaces of the first and second panel portions.

摘要： A stack of interlocked detachable bags, preferably formed from a thermoplastic foil strip, and each comprising two walls, a front wall and a back wall, preferably at least one handle-shaped incision positioned on one of said walls adjacent an upper filling opening, wherein the individual bags each have an interlock piece and are attached together with the aid of at least one interlock means engaging their interlock pieces, and by means of a row of perforations forming an edge of the interlock piece. The individual bags are detachable from the interlocked stack by tearing off. On one of the walls of each bag adjacent an upper filling opening edge of that bag a reinforcing piece, preferably of plastic foil, with the interlock piece is attached so that the interlock piece protrudes above the filling opening edge. Advantageously the inside of the back wall is provided with the protruding interlock and reinforcing pieces. The interlock means is put into the interlock pieces of the stacked individual bags to form the stack of interlocked detachable bags. A process for making the stack of interlocked detachable bags is also described.

The device for feeding and welding of the tabs comprising a turntable which is rotatable about an axis perpendicular to the advancing direction of the film webs which operates cyclically in synchronism with the stepwise advancement of the film webs.

摘要： Two longitudinally split plastics tubes are fed in parallel by respective feeding means and each have at least one margin folded back to have handle-hole reinforcements applied to it at intervals. The reinforcements are severed from a web by a rotary knife. The handle holes are formed in the tubes by punches simultaneously with the operation of separating welding means for welding off carrier bags from both tubes. Two photocells upstream of the reinforcement applying station scan printed register marks on the tubes and bring the tubes into phase with the rotary knife by operating a respective motor-driven indexing roller for each tube. Two further photocells for scanning the register marks are adapted to stop the feeding means independently when the tubes are correctly positioned in relation to the punches and separating welding means.

摘要： A plastic shopping bag is provided with an integral handle portion of wave configuration having a strip of reinforcement material therein of heavier gauge plastic than the remainder of the bag. The heavier gauge strip extends across the handle portion in spaced relation to the side edges of the bag. A plurality of such bags are fabricated by providing a flattened plastic film tube which has coextensive overlapping strips of heavier gauge material on the opposite faces thereof, cutting through the tube faces along a cutting line of cyclically recurring wave configuration that extends in the direction of elongation of the heavier gauge strips, the wavelength of said wave configuration being substantially equal to the desired width of the mouth of one of said shopping bags and the amplitude of said wave configuration being greater than the widths of said heavier gauge strips whereby the crests of the wave configuration are located at positions outside the boundary edges of the heavier gauge strips, and thereafter cutting the two faces along transverse seam lines which extend from the wave configuration crests to the outer edges of the flat tube of plastic film material.

摘要： A method of consecutively applying pieces of sheet material to a moving sheet material length preferably for securing reinforcing sheet pieces to the handle hole areas of a sheet length for the production of carrier bags, comprising advancing the sheet material length past an application station in which a strip of sheet material is successively fed to a number of movable carrier plates, cutting the sheet strip between consecutive carrier plates so as to leave a sheet piece on the leading plate or plates, moving the carrier plates successively into a working position adjacent the surface of said sheet length and pressing the carrier plate in this position with said sheet piece temporarily held thereon against said surface so as to transfer the sheet piece to the sheet length, retracting the carrier plate and moving the next carrier plate into said working position while advancing the sheet length further, characterised by feeding the sheet strip to carrier plate facets on a rotary carrier body and effecting the transfer of the sheet pieces to the sheet length by moving the entire carrier body against the sheet length. The sheet pieces or labels may hereby be applied to the sheet material length with short time intervals, i.e. a high production speed is obtainable, also because the carrier body may be rotated during its movement towards and /or away from the sheet length. The invention further comprises a machine for carrying out the said method, this machine being provided with the said rotatable carrier body for the sheet pieces.
