Abstract: A packaging machine for packaging a product in bags comprises a forming station for making bags from a plastic sheet that includes folding assembly for folding the sheet and obtaining two superimposed flaps, pulling assembly for unwinding the sheet and moving the two flaps on a vertical movement plane along a vertical first advancement direction, welding assembly and cutting devices for making on the flaps bags that are arranged side by side to form bag rows parallel to each other and orthogonal to the first advancement direction; a filling and closing station comprising a dosing station for dosing a product in the bags and a welding station for welding and closing the bags; and a movement system provided with gripping devices mobile and configured to move the bag rows along a second advancement direction from the forming station to the dosing station and the welding station.

Abstract: Apparatus and method of manufacturing open-mouth bags, comprising a storage device with a supply of bag film, a control device for controlling, a conveying device for conveying the bag film and/or the bag body along a conveying path, a welding device with welding means for making a bottom seam in the bag film and a cutting device with a cutting means for separating a predetermined film length of the bag film to form the bag body of an open-mouth bag. The control device controls the conveying device so as to cause a relative motion of the bag body and the bag film and a distance between the bag body and the bag film is generated prior to making the bottom seam. The control device controls the conveying device and the welding means so that while welding the bottom seam the welding means extend at least up to the bottom end of the bag body.

Abstract: A part packing system includes a bag holding machine including a part funnel having an opening configured to receive an end of a part and having a bag end manipulator holding first and second bag end gripper mechanisms that receive an end of the bag therebetween to open the end of the bag to form a mouth at the end of the bag. The bag end manipulator moves the first and second bag end gripper mechanisms to position the mouth of the bag immediately downstream of the opening of the part funnel. A part loading machine including a part manipulator holding the part and moving the part to a loading position upstream of the part funnel and moving the part gripper mechanism to load an end of the part through the opening in the part funnel into the mouth of the bag to load the part into the bag.

Abstract: A laminated packaging material for containers for liquids includes a thermoplastic material outermost layer, a paper substrate layer and a thermoplastic material innermost layer, the thermoplastic material innermost layer comprising a blend of a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and a low density polyethylene (LDPE), the blend having a low swelling ratio in a range from 0.9 to 1.2. The blend further may have a melt flow index in a range from 5 to 20 dg/min. The LLDPE component of the blend is made by polymerisation in the presence of a single site catalyst and has an average density a range from 0.86 to 0.92 g/mL and a peak melting point a range from 55 to 105° C. The thermoplastic material innermost layer prepared using such blends advantageously has a low layer thickness a range from 8 to 25 μm.
