摘要: This disclosure relates generally to corrugated pipe, and more particularly to corrugated pipe with an outer wrap. In one embodiment, a pipe includes an axially extended bore defined by a corrugated outer wall having axially adjacent, outwardly-extending corrugation crests, separated by corrugation valleys. The pipe also includes an outer wrap applied to the outer wall. The outer wrap may include fibers and plastic. The outer wrap may span the corrugation crests producing a smooth outer surface.

摘要: A process for producing a thermoplastic composite pipe is provided. The thermoplastic composite pipe thus produced contains a liner, two or more composite layers composed of tape laminas, and a single- or multilayer intermediate lamina arranged between different composite layers. Composite formation between identical polymers in the process achieves improved adhesion. The thermoplastic composite pipe is especially suitable for offshore applications in oil or gas production.

摘要: A process for manufacturing pipes using thermoplastic pipe and “tape” (continuous fiber, fully wetted in a similar thermoplastic as the pipe) that embeds the fibers into pipe surface. In one embodiment, an ambient temperature (72 degrees F.) tape is tightly wrapped around the cold pipe in a dry environment (relative humidity below 30). An external heat source is used to heat up the entire length of the pipe causing the thermoplastic to melt and the pipe to expand due to thermal expansion. Since the fibers have less stretch than the thermal expansion of the pipe the fibers will be embedded into the molten layer of the pipe, creating a permanent bond between the fibers and the pipe. A protective film is applied to the pipe. Portions of the tape and film are scraped from the surface of the pipe creating an area where the end of the pipe is coupled to another pipe using an electronic fusion coupler.

摘要: A pipe element includes a pipe made of fiber-reinforced plastic and at least one metal connector, which is connected to the pipe in such a way that the connection can transmit torques and axial forces. The metal connector has a thread, in particular a conical thread, or a flange, by way of which thread or flange the metal connector can be screwed to another metal connector of an additional pipe element in order to connect two pipe elements. The metal connector surrounds the pipe on the outside by way of a connection region. A counter sleeve is present, which has contact with the inside of the pipe by way of a connection region. The metal connector and the counter sleeve each have a cylindrical thread, by way of which the metal connector and the counter sleeve are screwed to each other.

摘要: A tube of fiber-reinforced plastic has a fitting face. A process for producing the tube includes the following steps: a) winding a fiber reinforcing material onto a winding core and applying a matrix material to form the tube; b) centering a fitting shaping tool in relation to the winding core; c) pushing the fitting shaping tool in the axial direction onto the later fitting face, which is formed on an annular part of the external circumferential face of the tube, wherein the fitting shaping tool rotates relative to the tube and to the winding core at least temporarily as it is being pushed on; d) thermally treating the tube in a furnace to cure the matrix material. The shaping tool remains in contact with the part of the external circumferential face during the thermal treatment and generates a defined surface on the outer side of the tube.
