摘要: A system for forming a composite structure includes a tool for infusing a dry preform with a resin. The tool includes a tool base and a tool lid. The tool base includes a base surface. The tool lid includes a lid surface. The system includes an adjustable stop that is positioned between the tool base and the tool lid. The base surface and the lid surface form a portion of a tool cavity. The tool lid is movable relative to the tool base to generate an internal pressure within the tool cavity. The adjustable stop controls a tool position of the tool lid relative to the tool base to achieve a predetermined value for the internal pressure.

摘要: A mold for use in the production of a ballistic article from a composite laminate stacked material wherein the mold has a sliding sealing section that nests with a outer permitter section and base portion so as to shield the sides of the composite laminate stacked material from applied isostatic pressure applied when in an autoclave. By shielding the sides of the composite laminate stacked material excess resin matrix material can be forced from the composite laminate stacked material to provide a uniform composite article with reduced weight and reduced thickness.

摘要: A mould aligner is used to align and lock a first mould and a second mould for moulding shell parts of a wind turbine blade. 摘要: A method for molding a laminated body includes laminating a reinforced fiber base material on a molding surface of a molding jig to form a laminated body; attaching a pulling jig to a third lamination portion of the laminated body; forming a protrusive curvature part and a recessed curvature part in the laminated body by curving the laminated body along a protrusive curvature surface and a recessed curvature surface formed on the molding surface while pulling the end of the laminated body with the pulling jig; and densifying the laminated body by heating the curved laminated body while pressurizing the same. The reinforced fiber base material is laminated so that at least a part of a gap between layers of the reinforced fiber base material becomes a non-adhered state in a portion from the protrusive curvature part to the third lamination portion formed in the laminated body.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for ultrasonic imaging of composite parts. One embodiment is a method that includes providing an object having multiple layers of fibers and resin, inducing ultrasonic waves at locations along the object, and attenuating the ultrasonic waves at the regions due to regions interspersed among the layers that each exhibit an elastic modulus distinct from an elastic modulus of the fibers and distinct from an elastic modulus of the matrix. The method further includes receiving the attenuated ultrasonic waves, and analyzing the attenuated ultrasonic waves to determine depths of the regions.

摘要: A belt calender for manufacturing preimpregnated composites includes a first roller, which is rotatable around its longitudinal axis, a first belt running at least partly around the first roller; and a second belt running in between the first roller and the first belt. The first belt and the second belt guide a feed of material between them. The belt calender includes auxiliary rollers which are rotatable around their longitudinal axes, and are arranged substantially parallel to the first roller around at least a part of a circumference thereof. The first and second belt run in between two adjacent ones of the plurality of auxiliary rollers, thereby defining a meandering path for the feed of material. A method for manufacturing preimpregnated composites by using such a belt calender.

摘要: A method, apparatus, system, and computer program product for detecting inconsistencies in an unconsolidated composite material. Fiber inconsistencies are detected in sections of the fibers input into a composite material manufacturing system in real time during operation of the composite material manufacturing system. Material inconsistencies are detected in the unconsolidated composite material in real time as the unconsolidated composite material is being manufactured by the composite material manufacturing system using the fibers. A determination is made as to whether the material inconsistencies are present in a number of the sections in which the fiber inconsistencies are detected in real time as the unconsolidated composite material is being manufactured by the composite material manufacturing system. The fiber inconsistencies in the number of the sections in which the fibers with fiber inconsistencies resulted in the material inconsistencies in the number of the sections in the unconsolidated composite material are tracked.

Independently manufactured blade parts of a wind turbine blade are assembled in a manner such that the assembled blade comes as close as possible to a single-casted blade.
