摘要: Automated systems for processing a biopsy sample are disclosed herein, as well as methods for automating the processing of a biopsy sample. A benefit to the automated systems and methods herein can be the efficient and cost-effective processing of large numbers of biopsy samples. Another benefit to the automated systems and methods herein can be increased personnel safety for processing biopsy samples. Additional benefits to the automated systems and methods herein can be greater patient safety by increasing accuracy in biopsy sample processing, and preventing errors in biopsy sample processing that may lead to misdiagnosis and improper treatments.

摘要: The present invention describes an integrated incubator and image capture module that regulates the incubator atmosphere and obtains high-resolution digital images of sample specimens. The incubator has a cabinet type enclosure that enables the provision of a controlled environment to the contents of the incubator by having at least three ports on one face of the cabinet for the passage of sample containers. Additionally, an image capture module is located immediately adjacent to the incubator. In this regard, using at least three separate access/egress points for the sample containers streamlines operation of the system and enhances preservation of the incubator environment. Furthermore, locating the image capture module directly adjacent to the incubator reduces the amount of time a sample container is exposed to the external environment, thereby reducing the extent to which samples are exposed to potential contaminants and reducing the exchange of the lab and ambient atmospheres.

摘要: The invention relates to an arrangement for preparing a plurality of samples for an analytical method, comprising a carousel with a solid housing and moveable receiving parts for the sample containers; a control for controlling the receiving parts in the carousel; and a sample receiving device for providing the sample for the analytical method. Said arrangement is characterized in that one or more stations for preparing samples are provided on the carousel, the receiving parts for the sample containers of the carousel can be positioned on said stations. Said arrangement also comprises a centrifuge with pairs of opposite lying receiving parts provided for the sample containers, and said receiving parts are arranged such that they can move on the centrifuge for the sample holder such that a transfer of a sample holder between a receiving part in the carousel and a receiving part in the centrifuge can be carried out. The control takes place by the same control which is also provided for controlling the carousel.

When an application of a centrifugal force is received, the sample liquid WSS is introduced from the internal passage R into the density gradient liquid WDGS.

摘要: Systems and methods for detecting and/or identifying target cells (e.g., bacteria) using engineered transduction particles are described herein. In some embodiments, a method includes mixing a quantity of transduction particles within a sample. The transduction particles are associated with a target cell. The transduction particles are non-replicative, and are engineered to include a nucleic acid molecule formulated to cause the target cell to produce a series of reporter molecules. The sample and the transduction particles are maintained to express the series of the reporter molecules when target cell is present in the sample. A signal associated with a quantity of the reporter molecules is received. In some embodiments, a magnitude of the signal is independent from a quantity of the transduction particle above a predetermined quantity.

The reagent containers 116-118 accommodate the reagent and have lids 101a-101c that pivot about a pivot point. The reagent containers 116-118 are mounted on the cassette 100. The reagent container lid opening and closing mechanism opens and closes the lids 101a-101c. The lid holding mechanism 131 holds the lids 101a opened by the reagent container lid opening and closing mechanism.
