    摘要: The infrared sensor in accordance with the present invention includes a pyroelectric element, an IC device, and a surface-mounted package. The IC device is configured to process an output signal of the pyroelectric element. The package houses the pyroelectric element and the IC device. The package includes a package body and a package lid configured to transmit infrared rays to be detected by the pyroelectric element, and has electrical conductivity. The package body is provided on its surface with plural recessed parts arranged in tiers. The IC device is mounted on a bottom of the lower recessed part. The package body includes an output wiring configured to electrically connect an output terminal of the IC device to an external connection terminal and a shielding member interposed between the pyroelectric element and the output wiring.

    摘要: An infrared detection unit includes a base carrying an infrared sensor element, and a cap configured to be fitted on the base to surround the infrared sensor element. The cap has a top wall with a window in which a semiconductor lens is fitted to collect an infrared radiation onto the infrared sensor element. The semiconductor optical lens is formed from a semiconductor substrate to have a convex lens and a flange which surround said convex lens. An infrared barrier is formed on the semiconductor lens to block the infrared radiation from passing through the boundary between the circumference of the convex lens and the window. Accordingly, the infrared sensor element can receive only the infrared radiation originating from a detection area intended by the convex lens.

    摘要: In accordance with certain embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for adjusting the spectral detectivity of a thermal detector is described. The method includes coating the light sensitive portion of a thermal detector with a first material to reduce the response of the detector. The first material is coated with a second material that is thermally thin and has spectral absorption characteristics. The second material is coated with a third material that is thermally thick, whereby the spectral absorbance of the second material as filtered by the third material primarily determines the thermal conversion of the thermal detector.

    摘要: A detector arrangement for electromagnetic radiation has at least an absorbing element and a cantilever sensor which are in operational connection with each other, so that the sensor is bendable in response to electromagnetic radiation absorbed by the absorbing element. The arrangement further includes an interferometer for measuring bending of the cantilever sensor. In a method for measuring electromagnetic radiation, electromagnetic radiation is directed on to the absorbing element and thereby bending of the cantilever sensor is caused. Bending of the cantilever sensor is measured with an interferometer. The cantilever sensor can be a door-like flap made of silicon, attached to one side of a frame of silicon.
