摘要: A fuel for an internal combustion engine includes a C5 to C30 dialkoxyalkanoate corresponding to formula (I):
wherein the R1 group is —H or a —CH3 group, the R2 and R2′ groups are alkyl groups independently selected to have 1 to 9 carbon atoms; and the R3 group is selected to have 1 to 9 carbon atoms. The compounds described herein may be used as neat fuels or mixed fuels (with diesel, biodiesel, jet fuel, marine fuel or other fuel compounds) in autoignition or spark ignition engines, such as diesel engines, gasoline (spark ignition) engines, MCCI, Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engines, or more generally in Low-Temperature Gasoline Combustion (LTGC) engines (using gasoline-like fuels), that have the high-efficiency advantages of HCCI but can operate with some level of charge inhomogeneities. Methods of making these compounds are environmentally friendly and can be done in a continuous manner.-

摘要: Fuel composition comprising: (a) a base fuel suitable for use in an internal combustion engine; (b) a tetraalkylethane compound having the formula (I) : wherein Ar represents an aryl group and each X is independently selected from a hydrogen atom, substituted or unsubstituted, straight chain or branched C1-C12 alkyl group, (CH2)nOH or (CH2)nNH2, wherein n is in the range of 1 to 9, provided that at least one of the X groups in each CX3 group is a hydrogen atom; and c) an alkylbenzene compound having the formula (II) wherein each R1-R6 group is independently selected from hydrogen and a C1-C15 alkyl group, wherein at least one of the R1-R6 groups is a C1-C6 alkyl group. The fuel composition of the present invention provides improved power and acceleration benefits, as well as increased flame speed and burn duration.

The Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil has a Environmental Contaminate level has a maximum sulfur content (ISO 14596 or ISO 8754) between the range of 0.05 mass % to 1.0 mass. A process plant for conducting the process for conducting the process is disclosed that can utilize a modular reactor vessel.

摘要: Methods are provided to prepare a low sulfur fuel from hydrocarbon sources, such as light tight oil and high sulfur fuel oil, often less desired by conventional refiners, who split crude into a wide range of differing products and may prefer presence of wide ranges (C3 or C5 to C20 or higher) of hydrocarbons. These fuels can be produced by separating feeds into untreated and treated streams, and then recombining them. Such fuels can also be formulated by combinations of light, middle and heavy range constituents in a selected manner as claimed. Not only low in sulfur, the fuels of this invention are also low in nitrogen and essentially metals free. Fuel use applications include on-board large marine transport vessels but also on-shore for large land based combustion gas turbines, boilers, fired heaters and transport vehicles and trains.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a method for synthesizing a nano-emulsion fuel composition. The method may include forming a water-in-fossil fuel emulsion by dispersing water into a fossil fuel in the presence of a surfactant, synthesizing carbon quantum dots with an average diameter between 0.5 nanometers to 20 nanometers, forming a mixture of the synthesized carbon quantum dots and the water-in-fossil fuel emulsion by dispersing the synthesized carbon quantum dots into the water-in-fossil fuel emulsion; the carbon quantum dots comprising 1 ppm to 10000 ppm of the mixture, and forming a nano-emulsion fuel composition by mixing a biofuel into the mixture of carbon quantum dots and the water-in-fossil fuel emulsion.

摘要: A hydrocarbon separation system for an engine fuel supply system is disclosed. The hydrocarbon separation system may include an untreated gas conduit configured to transport a raw gas stream including methane, ethane and higher carbon chainlength hydrocarbon molecules. The system may also include a separator downstream of and fluidly coupled to the untreated gas conduit configured to segregate methane or ethane of the raw gas stream from the higher carbon chainlength hydrocarbon molecules of the raw gas stream. A treated gas conduit may be located downstream of and fluidly coupled to the separator and be configured to transport the methane or ethane of the raw gas stream away from the separator. Lastly, the system may include an electronic controller configured to receive a breakthrough signal and transmit a regeneration signal in response to the breakthrough signal.

摘要: A non-oxidized diesel desulfurization process that uses temperature swing adsorption along with an adsorbent to adsorb sulfur compounds and other impurities petroleum-based from fuel compositions, including light distillates, middle distillates, diesel, gasoline and transmix. The process uses temperature cycling of an adsorbent bed to adsorb and desorb organosulfur compounds and other impurities. Once the adsorbent reaches a selected concentration of sulfur compounds, the temperature of the adsorbent bed is raised to desorb sulfur compounds, using a regenerant.
