摘要: A method of creating a polymer surface with surface structures is disclosed. The method includes creating a mold, forming a metal sheet into the molds, creating a surface structure on a surface of the metal sheet by exposing the surface to laser pulses, and bringing a curable polymer to be in contact with the surface of the metal sheet containing the surface structure, curing the curable polymer, and separating the cured polymer from the metal sheet, resulting in a polymer surface containing the surface structure. The polymer surfaces with the surface structures can be hydrophobic or superhydrophobic depending on the micro and nano features contained by the surface structures.

摘要: A glass plate, containing: a first main surface and a second main surface opposite to each other, wherein an in-plane void region having a plurality of voids is arranged on the first main surface, a plurality of internal void rows each having one void or two or more voids are arranged from the in-plane void region toward the second main surface, and a cut surface obtained by cutting the glass plate to pass through the in-plane void region and the plurality of internal void rows has a compressive stress layer formed by applying a chemical strengthening treatment in the center of the cut surface.

The cross member is inserted into a mold when the rear side members are cast such that both ends of the cross member are connected to the rear side members disposed on both sides, respectively.

摘要: A system includes an energy source, a focusing system, and a controller. The energy source is configured to output energy pulses to the focusing system. A chamber surrounds at least a portion of a metallic substrate and contain a liquid in contact with a surface of the metallic substrate. The controller is configured to cause the energy source to output energy pulses and cause the focusing system to focus a focal volume of the energy pulses at or near the surface of the metallic substrate that is in contact with the liquid to create micro-scale or smaller surface texturing on the metallic substrate.

摘要: A guidewire for use in intravascular procedures has an inner coil that is radiopaque and an outer coil that is non-radiopaque at the distal end of the guidewire. The radiopaque inner coil is visible under fluoroscopy so that the physician can monitor the location of the distal end of the guidewire during a procedure. The inner coil and the outer coil can be formed from a single wire or a multi-filar wire. The inner coil and the outer coil can have any of the following cross-sections for enhanced torquability: I-beam; vertical rectangular; vertical ellipse; square; peanut shape; vertical hexagonal; horizontal hexagonal; and horizontal ellipse.

摘要: A method for laser carving of paint on an outer surface of a vehicle wheel includes a step of priming: priming an outer surface of the wheel to form a painted surface; a step of laser carving: carving the primer from a selected area of the wheel by laser to remove the painted surface from the selected area, the selected area having an exposed area with metallic luster, and a step of fine-polish: polishing the outer surface of the wheel to form a fine-polished area at the exposed area. The painted surface on the wheel can be quickly removed to disclose a selected area with metallic luster, while the wheel is prevented from corrosion so as to reduce manufacturing cost and increase precision.

摘要: A method for treating a material comprising: applying energy to a predetermined portion of the material in a controlled manner such that the local chemistry of the predetermined portion is altered to provide a predetermined result. When the material is a shape memory material, the predetermined result may be to provide an additional memory to the predetermined portion or to alter the pseudo-elastic properties of the shape memory material. In other examples, which are not necessarily restricted to shape memory materials, the process may be used to adjust the concentration of components at the surface to allow the formation of an oxide layer at the surface of the material to provide corrosion resistance; to remove contaminants from the material; to adjust surface texture; or to generate at least one additional phase particle in the material to provide a nucleation site for grain growth, which in turn, can strengthen the material.
