Abstract:
Embodiments described herein generally provide for the expansion of cells in a cell expansion system using an active promotion of a coating agent(s) to a cell growth surface in some embodiments. A coating agent may be applied to a surface, such as the cell growth surface of a hollow fiber in a bioreactor, by controlling the movement of a fluid in which a coating agent is suspended, by changing flow rates, by changing flow directions, by rotation of the bioreactor, and/or combinations thereof.
Abstract:
According to certain techniques, a system for coating a substrate includes a preparation component, a coating component, and a curing component. The preparation component includes a plasma applicator that irradiates the substrate with plasma to form a prepared substrate. The coating component coats the prepared substrate with a coating medium to form a coated substrate. The coating component includes a coating head that receives the coating medium from a reservoir and applies the coating medium to the prepared substrate to form the coated substrate. The coating component includes a vacuum that removes an excess amount of the coating medium from the coated substrate. The curing component includes at least one ultraviolet emitter and irradiates the coated substrate with ultraviolet energy to form a cured substrate.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to metal object-coating method, which method comprises coating a primer composition (I) prepared by adding an inorganic anti-corrosive agent to at least one binder component selected from the group consisting of a binder component (A) containing an epoxy resin and ant least one of amino resin and phenol resin, a binder component (B) containing a polyester resin, epoxy resin and phenol resin, and a binder component (C) containing α-olefin•α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer resin onto the surface of a metal object coating substrate to form a primer coating film layer, followed by coating a topcoat coating composition consisting of a thermoplastic resin based coating composition (II) onto the primer coating film layer to form a topcoat coating film layer consisting of a thermoplastic resin coating film layer; and the primer composition used in the method.
Abstract:
A system and method for coating a length of material 1 with and electron-beam curable coating or an ultraviolet curable coating comprises placing a portion of the material to be coated under tension or compression and driving or pulling the material 1 through a coating system 100 whereby a liquid coating is applied. The material 1 is then exposed to electron beam radiation and/or ultraviolet radiation to cure the coating applied thereto.
Abstract:
Lengths of polymer-coated tubing are continuously produced from steel strip by roll-forming and welding at a fast rate of speed. The welded tubing is sized, cleaned and heated to raise its temperature to that desired for applying a polymeric coating. After coating, the tubing is heated to a desired baking temperature and then cooled. The tubing is unsupported from a location upstream of the coating station until cooled. Elongated endless belts grip the tubing over a longitudinal distance of at least about 2 feet and pull the tubing in a controlled manner to maintain the tubing in precise spatial location throughout its heating, coating and baking.
Abstract:
Coating compositions for coating an oilfield operational component, and related methods, may include in some aspects a coating composition having a trifunctional silane, a silanol, and a filler. The coating composition may be applied to a surface of the oilfield operational component that is configured to be exposed to a fluid. The coating composition may be applied to at least partially cover or coat the surface. The coating composition may be configured to chemically bond with a cured primer composition that includes an epoxy.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for treating metal pipe couplings, including a frame and insulated panels attached to the frame forming an oven. A pre-heat zone and a bake zone inside the oven, the pre-heat zone separated from the bake zone by a shared oven wall. A combustion burner and recirculation blower are positioned in opposite ends of the oven in a pre-heat zone combustion/recirculation chamber. Another burner and recirculation blower pair are positioned in opposite ends of the oven in a bake zone combustion/recirculation chamber. Heated air supply plenums are fluidly connected to respective recirculation blowers, and include direction-adjustable nozzles to direct heated air generally downward onto pipe couplings moving through the preheat and bake zones. Return air plenums positioned in each of the pre-heat and bake zones each have an air inlet, and an outlet fluidly connected to respective combustion/recirculation chambers. Coating-cured metal pipe couplings made by the methods.
