    摘要: A biological culture unit comprises a chamber body and a valve plate. The chamber body has defined therein a growth chamber and an aliquot chamber. The valve plate is disposed on the top surface of the chamber body and is movable to define selectable configurations of the biological culture unit for: (1) loading the growth chamber; (3) transferring an aliquot from the growth chamber to the aliquot chamber via a path defined within the biological culture unit in the transfer position; and (4) extracting the aliquot from the aliquot chamber. The selectable positions may further include (2) a growth position, and (5) a termination position for putting a termination agent into the growth and aliquot chambers. The valve plate may further include a neutralizer port that is aligned with the aliquot chamber in the loading position, for loading a neutralizing agent into the aliquot chamber.

    摘要: Tissue-processing containers are disclosed for facilitating multistep processing of tissue. Also disclosed are systems incorporating the tissue-processing containers that include shakers, incubators, controllers, and pumps. Multistep methods are disclosed for processing tissues using the tissue-processing containers. The tissue-processing containers are specially designed to achieve efficiencies in automated tissue processing, exposure of tissues to processing media, and multistep tissue processing protocols. The described tissue-processing containers comprise a cup-like cavity comprising a middle hole covered by a mesh screen, troughs for separate processing steps, and are stackable in a substantially airtight and substantially watertight manner. Tissues for processing using the described tissue-processing containers include nerve tissue. Also described herein is a transport housing for the transport of stacks of tissue-processing containers, and which may directly incubate those containers, or which may be placed inside a separate incubator for incubating the containers.

    摘要: A fluid sampling system for biotechnological applications, comprises a bioreactor chamber (2) for a fluid culture medium (4) containing cells (6) and further comprising transfer means (8) for transferring controlled amounts of culture medium from said bioreactor chamber to a target container (10). The transfer means comprise: a perfusion probe (12) with a fluid-tight probe housing surrounding an internal probe volume (14) and having an inlet probe aperture (16) and an outlet probe aperture (18); a fluid filtering element (20) sealingly connected to the probe housing and forming a cover of the inlet probe aperture. A fluid connection line comprises a fluid receptacle (30) disposed between the outlet probe aperture (18) of the perfusion probe and the target container (10) and disposed on a weight measuring station (32) configured for acquisition of a weight signal corresponding to the fluid receptacle's momentary weight.
