Abstract: A system and method for facilitating implementation of events in an online game are disclosed. Award information may be received from user. The received award information may define a type of in-game award to be distributed to players of the online game. The award information may include information indicate a corresponding award handler for determine and/or distributing the instances of the award to the players. Event information may be received from user. The received event information may specify details for implementing an event in the online game. The received event information may include event award information indicating one or more instances of an award of an award type defined by the received award information. The event information may be used to automatically implement the event in the online game, and the instances of the award may be distributed to the participating players in accordance with the event award information.

Abstract: A game system is provided in which a first game apparatus operated by a first player and a second game apparatus operated by a second player are configured to communicate with each other. The first game apparatus decides a content of a fighting event according to an operation of the first player, and transmits event information related to the content of the fighting event. The second game apparatus receives the event information, and generates the fighting event based on the event information. The event information includes: object information related to one or more objects that are selected from objects of the first player and that fight against an object of the second player in the fighting event; and mission information that is related to a mission assigned for the second player during the fighting event.

Abstract: A method comprising: detecting a position of a portable device, the portable device including a camera that captures a real-world scene, and identifying an anchor within the real-world scene; generating an augmented reality scene formed by inserting a virtual character into the real-world scene, the virtual character configured to perform an action indicating awareness of the position or activity of the portable device; displaying the augmented reality scene on a display; wherein the action indicating awareness comprises adjusting a view direction, in the augmented reality scene, of the virtual character towards the portable device, and wherein the adjustment of the view direction of the virtual character changes a relationship of the view direction to the anchor, wherein the adjustment of the view direction of the virtual character includes adjustment of a head of the virtual character so as to look in the direction of the portable device.

Abstract: In some embodiments, extemporaneous control of remote objects can be made more natural using the invention, enabling a participant to pivot, tip and aim a head-mounted display apparatus to control a remote-controlled toy or full-sized vehicle, for example, hands-free. If the vehicle is outfitted with a camera, then the participant may see the remote location from first-person proprioceptive perspective.

Abstract: An object is to provide a novel data processing system. The data processing system includes a portable terminal, a network, a server, and a database. The portable terminal transmits position information to the server through the network. The server transmits, to the portable terminal through the network, a plurality of pieces of object data corresponding to the position information obtained from the database. Imaging data obtained by the portable terminal and the plurality of pieces of object data are compared, and when there is a piece of the object data that does not match the imaging data, the mismatched piece of the object data stored in the database is updated.

Abstract: A device directed to a combination computing and input device. The computing device providing a plurality of sides, each of the plurality of sides are disposed between an electronic display screen and a back of the computing device. The input device communicates with the computing device and provides a pair of control modules adjacent to and confining the computing device on at least two opposing sides of the computing device. The input device further provides a structural bridge securing the pair of control modules one to the other, and a touch sensitive input module. The structural bridge adaptively and snugly accommodate the length of the computing device. A first of the pair of control modules features a retention mechanism communicating with the structural bridge. The retention mechanism adaptively secures the structural bridge such that the pair of control modules snugly accommodate the length of the computing device.

Abstract: A device for enabling user control for interfacing with a video game is provided, including the following: a projector for projecting a radiation pattern; a camera for capturing images of the projected radiation pattern; an image processor configured to process the captured images for identification of the projected radiation pattern; a transceiver configured to communicate with a game console that executes the video game, the transceiver configured to transmit data generated by the image processor to the game console, such that a position of the device is determined based on the captured images of the radiation pattern, the determined position of the device being utilized to update a state of the executing video game at the game console; a harness for attaching the device to the user.
