Abstract:
Absorbent product having a liquid permeable surface and a liquid impermeable opposite surface, the absorbent product including an odor control material, the odor control material including a carrier material and a plurality of odor control particles adhered to the carrier material. The carrier material has a first surface located towards the liquid permeable surface of the absorbent product and a second opposite surface located towards the liquid impermeable surface of the absorbent product. The plurality of odor control particles are bonded to the second surface of the carrier material with a water soluble binder substance wherein the binder substance at least partly dissolves when in contact with an aqueous solution.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an odor control material consisting of a water-insoluble particulate odor control agent and a thermoplastic water-soluble carrier matrix encapsulating the odor control agent. The carrier matrix dissolves when in contact with an aqueous solution, such as urine and the odor control material is obtained by means of thermoforming. The invention relates also to a method for the preparation of the odor control material and the use of the odor control material in absorbent products. The present odor control material minimizes dusting problems caused by particulate odor control agents in production processes.
Abstract:
An odor controlling device includes a panel structure to which an adjustable holding component is detachably secured. The panel structure includes at least one layer. The at least one layer includes double woven activated charcoal fiber cloth. The panel structure may have another layer which includes a flexible foam material positioned below the charcoal fiber cloth. The foam material may be incorporated with a suitable and effective odor absorbing, neutralizing, controlling, removing and/or adsorbing material.
Abstract:
A substrate that contains a deodorizing ink is provided. The composition contains carbonaceous particles (e.g., activated carbon) for adsorbing one or more malodorous compounds to reduce odor. Because carbonaceous particles typically have a dark black color that is sometimes aesthetically displeasing to the user, the deodorizing ink of the present invention also contains voided synthetic particles that mask, at least to some extent, the darker carbonaceous particles. More specifically, the voids of the particles contain air, which can scatter or diffract light to create an opaque effect that may hide the black color of the carbonaceous particles. In this manner, the color presented to the user may be more aesthetically pleasing.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wound dressing, in particular a wound compress, comprising a layer containing active charcoal, at least one further layer, such as a sleeve for the active charcoal containing layer, an absorbent layer, a clothes protection layer, or similar and an agent with anti-microbial effect, characterised in that the agent with anti-microbial effect is contained in the at least one further layer.
Abstract:
A fiber product comprises dry discontinuous fibers having a starch binder on at least a portion of the fiber surfaces, at least about seventy percent of the starch binder coated fibers being unbonded to one another, solid particles are adhered to the fibers by the binder without the binder entirely coating the particles. The fibers may be air laid into a web or formed into an absorbent structure. Superabsorbent particles are a specific example of the particles which may be adhered to the fibers.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method and apparatus for the non-invasive determination of one or more preselected analytes in a body fluid expressed through the skin. The fluid is collected in a dermal concentration patch and concentrated by driving off a portion of the substantial water fraction under the influence of body heat. The analyte is optimally complexed with an immobilized specific binding partner and an indicium of the presence of the analyte is visually expressed. The patch may comprise a plurality of test zones for screening for a plurality of analytes. Additional positive and negative control zones are also disclosed. The patch may comprise a feature to detect tampering with the patch to produce false negative results, especially when used in screens for drugs of abuse. In addition to being useful as a drug of abuse screen, the patch is useful for diagnostic purposes.
Abstract:
A wearing article provided with bamboo carbon material includes a disposable wearing article like a diaper for babies which is mainly made up of a belly pad section, a thin film with diagrams defined thereon attached at the front side of the belly pad section thereto, and a wrapping section with two buckling pieces attached at both lateral sides thereof to be fastened to the thin film respectively thereby. The diagrams of the thin film are provided with dark ink into which, along with a fastening agent layer laminated at a releasing paper and the buckling piece there-between, bamboo carbon powder is added. The bamboo carbon powder is made of carbonized old bamboo grown for over 4 years and burned at a high temperature before ground into powder for use. Via the bamboo carbon powder of strong adhesive and dissolving capacities, the disposable wearing article thereof is equipped with the functions of anti-bacteria, humid-adjustment, and deodorization to easily absorb and dissolve some harmful chemicals, or defeat bugs. Besides, infrared suitable to the absorption of human body for good blood circulation and body health is produced, and beneficial negative ions are increased in the air to balance the humidity and achieve anti-bug design, efficiently boosting the quality and effects of the disposable wearing article thereof.
Abstract:
An absorbent article is disclosed for absorbing bodily fluids which has incorporated therein an odor control material for decreasing bodily odor which material comprises a zeolite having an average particle size (distribution by weight in sieve analysis) of at least 200 um. The zeolite may optionally be mixed with an absorbent gelling material and/or activated carbon.
Abstract:
A dermal patch to be worn on the skin for increasing the concentration of an analyte expressed through the skin in perspiration to a conveniently measurable level. Included are patches and methods of using such patches to determine the quantity of an analyte in a given volume of perspiration, to determine a subject's sensitivity to an allergen, to allow an analyte to be detected with conventional detection systems, and to dissolve the structural components of a patch to facilitate analyte detection.
