Abstract: A nucleic acid analysis device which can determine a DNA sequence has a flowcell in which two or more DNA fragment clusters of two or more DNA fragments having identical nucleotide sequences are immobilized. At least a part of the flowcell is made of a transparent material. An irradiation unit irradiates a part in which the DNA fragment clusters are immobilized. The device has a lens for collecting fluorescence, and a light-detection element. A solution containing only dATP having a fluorescently modified phosphate terminal among four bases, a solution containing only dCTP having a fluorescently modified phosphate terminal among the four bases, a solution containing only dGTP having a fluorescently modified phosphate terminal among the four bases, a solution containing only dTTP having a fluorescently modified phosphate terminal among the four bases, and a buffer solution are sent sequentially to where the DNA fragment clusters are immobilized.

Abstract: In the microscope observation container according to the present invention, an observed sample is accommodated by an objective lens barrel provided with a housing extending along the radiation direction of excitation light and an objective lens fixed to an inside surface of the housing. The microscope observation container is provided with a structure for collecting a liquid immersion medium added by dispensation, the structure having a portion contacted by the objective lens barrel during observation. During observation the aforementioned portion is contacted by the objective lens barrel, and the liquid immersion medium is thereby sealed by the objective lens barrel and the structure. The aforementioned portion also has an elastic force, and is deformed so as to conform to the housing of the objective lens by the contact.

Abstract: With a microspectroscopy device provided with an objective lens with a high numerical aperture, a defocus arises from thermal drift, etc., necessitating auto-focusing. Conventional auto-focus based on through-focus image acquisition takes time, and thus, it cannot be applied to continuous measurement over a long time wherein high-speed sampling is carried out. The present invention addresses this problem by having a defocus-sensing beam that has either defocus or astigmatism fall incident on the objective lens. Since how the image of the spot of the beam for defocus sensing blurs differs depending on the orientation of the defocus, real-time detection of the amount and orientation of defocus becomes possible, and high-speed realtime auto-focus becomes possible.

Abstract: An object of the present invention relates to providing a nucleic acid analyzer capable of testing a plurality of test items in parallel, and of obtaining high efficiency of specimen processing even if the test item or a measuring object is changed. The present invention relates to an analyzer including a carousel rotatable about a rotation axis, a plurality of reaction containers held along a circumferential edge of the carousel, and at least one detector having a light source for irradiating the reaction container with excitation light and a detection element for detecting fluorescence from a reaction liquid in the reaction container. The detector is removable. By attaching a desired detector, it is possible to perform fluorescence measurement in response to the test item. According to the present invention, it is possible to test a plurality of test items in parallel, and even if the test item or the measuring object is changed, the high efficiency of specimen processing can be obtained.
