摘要: A method for upgrading mixed pyrolysis oil may include contacting the mixed pyrolysis oil with hydrogen in the presence of a mixed metal oxide catalyst at reaction conditions to produce a reaction effluent including light aromatic compounds. The mixed pyrolysis oil includes multi-ring aromatic compounds and is formed from light pyrolysis oil and heavy pyrolysis oil at a ratio of 10:90 to 40:60 with light pyrolysis oil representing a bottom stream of a gas steam cracker and heavy pyrolysis oil representing a bottom stream of a naphtha steam cracker. The mixed metal oxide catalyst includes a plurality of catalyst particles with each catalyst particles including a plurality of metal oxides. An associated system for upgrading mixed pyrolysis oil may include a pyrolysis upgrading unit housing the mixed metal oxide catalyst and a separation unit operable to separate used mixed metal oxide catalyst from the reaction effluent.

摘要: A process to produce olefins including: (a) Providing a hydrocarbon stream containing at least 10 wt % of pyrolysis plastic oil; (b) Optionally contacting the effluent obtained in step a) with silica gel, clays, alkaline or alkaline earth metal oxide, iron oxide, ion exchange resins, active carbon, active aluminium oxide, molecular sieves, alkaline oxide and/or porous supports containing lamellar double hydroxide modified or not and silica gel, or any mixture thereof; (c) performing a selective hydrogenation step; (d) contacting the stream obtained in step c) with a cracking catalyst to crack the olefins and/or paraffins into olefins having 2 to 4 carbon atoms (e) separating from the effluents obtained at the step d) a first stream containing olefins and saturated hydrocarbons having at most 3 carbon atoms, and a second stream containing hydrocarbons having 4 or more carbon atoms and (f) recovering from said first stream the ethylene and propylene.

摘要: An integrated process for upgrading a hydrocarbon oil feed stream utilizing a gasification unit and steam enhanced catalytic cracker includes solvent deasphalting the hydrocarbon oil stream to form at least a deasphalted oil stream and heavy residual hydrocarbons, the heavy residual hydrocarbons including at least asphaltenes; processing the heavy residual hydrocarbons in a gasification unit to form syngas and gasification residue; hydrotreating the deasphalted oil stream to form a light C5+ hydrocarbon stream, and a heavy C5+ hydrocarbon stream; steam enhanced catalytically cracking the light C5+ hydrocarbon stream to form a light steam enhanced catalytically cracked product stream including olefins, benzene, toluene, xylene, naphtha, or combinations thereof; and steam enhanced catalytically cracking the heavy C5+ hydrocarbon stream to form a heavy steam enhanced catalytically cracked product including olefins, benzene, toluene, xylene, naphtha, or combinations thereof.

摘要: Processes herein may be used to thermally crack various hydrocarbon feeds, and may eliminate the refinery altogether while making the crude to chemicals process very flexible in terms of crude. In embodiments herein, crude is progressively separated into at least light and heavy fractions. Depending on the quality of the light and heavy fractions, these are routed to one of three upgrading operations, including a fixed bed hydroconversion unit, a fluidized catalytic conversion unit, or a residue hydrocracking unit that may utilize an ebullated bed reactor. Products from the upgrading operations may be used as feed to a steam cracker.

In embodiments herein, crude is progressively separated into light and heavy fractions utilizing convection heat from heaters used in steam cracking. Depending on the quality of the light and heavy fractions, these are routed to one of three upgrading operations, including a fixed bed hydroconversion unit, a fluidized catalytic conversion unit, or a residue hydrocracking unit that may utilize either an ebullated bed reactor with extrudate catalysts or a slurry hydrocracking reactor using a homogeneous catalyst system, such as a molybdenum based catalysts which may optionally be promoted with nickel. Products from the upgrading operations can be finished olefins and/or aromatics, or, for heavier products from the upgrading operations, may be used as feed to the steam cracker.

摘要: Processes for producing olefins include integration of steam cracking with a dual catalyst metathesis process. The processes include steam cracking a hydrocarbon feed to form a cracking reaction effluent containing butenes, separating the cracking reaction effluent to produce a cracking C4 effluent including normal butenes, isobutene, and 1,3-butadiene, subjecting the cracking C4 effluent to selective hydrogenation to convert 1,3-butadiene in the cracking C4 effluent to normal butenes, removing isobutene from a hydrogenation effluent to produce a metathesis feed containing normal butenes, and contacting the metathesis feed with a metathesis catalyst and a cracking catalyst directly downstream of the metathesis catalyst to produce a metathesis reaction effluent. Contacting with the metathesis catalyst causes metathesis of normal butenes to produce ethylene, propene, and C5+ olefins, and contacting with the cracking catalyst causes C5+ olefins produced through metathesis to undergo cracking reactions to produce additional propene, ethylene, or both.

摘要: Processes for converting the coal-derived heavy-oil fraction of syncrude to polyols are described. The processes involve mixing a feed stream comprising the coal-derived heavy-oil fraction with an alcohol and aqueous sulfuric acid, heating the mixture, reacting the coal-derived heavy-oil fraction with ozone, and reacting the ozonated heavy-oil fraction with glycerin to form the polyol. In some cases, the ozonated heavy-oil fraction can be neutralized before reacting the ozonated heavy-oil fraction with the glycerin.
