摘要: Provided are methods for preparing hydrogen and solid carbon. Illustrative methods comprise providing a feedstock comprising gaseous hydrocarbons to a microwave-inert reaction vessel and/or a radio wave-inert reaction vessel. The reaction vessel has solid carbon, about 0% water and about 0% molecular oxygen inside the reaction vessel and the carbon inside the reaction vessel is operable to heat the feedstock comprising gaseous hydrocarbons. The carbon is then exposed to microwaves and/or radio waves until the solid carbon is at a temperature of at least 1200 Kelvin, thereby forming hydrogen and solid carbon. Once formed, the hydrogen and solid carbon are separated.

摘要: A feedstock gas reactor includes a reaction chamber and a first regenerative heat exchanger. A feedstock gas is flowed into the reaction chamber via the first regenerative heat exchanger. The feedstock gas is decomposed in the reaction chamber so as to produce reaction products. The reaction products are flowed out of the reaction chamber. The feedstock gas reactor may also include a second regenerative heat exchanger, and the reaction products may be flowed out of the reaction chamber via the second regenerative heat exchanger. Heat from the reaction products may stored in the second regenerative heat exchanger as the reaction products flow through the second regenerative heat exchanger, for later transfer to a feedstock gas flowing into the reaction chamber via the second regenerative heat exchanger.

摘要: A system and method for processing unconditioned syngas first removes solids and semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOC), then removes volatile organic compounds (VOC), and then removes at least one sulfur containing compound from the syngas. Additional processing may be performed depending on such factors as the source of syngas being processed, the products, byproducts and intermediate products desired to be formed, captured or recycled and environmental considerations.

The electrically conducting coil (102) receives an alternating current and heats the reaction chamber (102) by induction.

摘要: Methods and systems are disclosed that monitor the carbon and hydrogen production of a pyrolysis reactor system and adjust one or more inputs to the reactor system to improve performance when one or both of the monitored carbon and hydrogen production falls outside of a target performance specification. In particular, the ratio of fuel to oxidant (“fuel/oxidant ratio”) supplied to a combustion chamber of the reactor system is adjusted to below a fuel/oxidant equivalence ratio range, defined as 0.9-1.1, when both carbon and hydrogen production falls below a target carbon and hydrogen specification, and adjusted above the fuel/oxidant equivalence ratio range when only the carbon production falls below a target carbon specification. The target specification can include a number of parameters including production rate, morphology (of carbon), and operating temperature.

摘要: A thermal process system includes a retort assembly that includes a retort chamber, a heating assembly configured to heat the retort chamber, a vessel housing, a process gas inlet, and a sealing gas inlet. The retort assembly is configured to substantially contain one or more process gases in the retort chamber during a thermal process. The vessel housing is positioned around the retort chamber and configured to maintain a pressure or vacuum within the retort chamber. The process gas inlet is configured to receive the one or more process gases into the retort assembly. The sealing gas inlet is configured to receive a sealing gas into the vessel housing. The thermal process system may further include a leak gas detector configured to detect a presence of a leak gas, in which the leak gas includes a gas that is not the one or more process gases in the retort chamber.

摘要: An integrated process for upgrading a hydrocarbon oil feed stream includes solvent deasphalting the hydrocarbon oil stream to form at least a deasphalted oil stream and heavy residual hydrocarbons, delayed coking the heavy residual hydrocarbons to form petroleum coke and a delayed coker product stream; hydrotreating the delayed coker product stream and the deasphalted oil stream to form a C3-C4 hydrocarbon stream, a light C5+ hydrocarbon stream, and a heavy c5+ hydrocarbon stream; dehydrogenating the C3-C4 hydrocarbon stream to form propylene and butylene; steam enhanced catalytically cracking the light C5+ hydrocarbon stream to form a light steam enhanced catalytically cracked product stream including olefins, benzene, toluene, xylene, naphtha, or combinations thereof; and steam enhanced catalytically cracking the heavy C5+ hydrocarbon stream to form a heavy steam enhanced catalytically cracked product including olefins, benzene, toluene, xylene, naphtha, or combinations thereof.

摘要: The current invention relates to a plasma reactor comprising: a reactor space, an axial gas inlet suitable for fluid flow in an axial direction, said axial inlet comprising radial injection slits for discharging a jet of gaseous mixture into said reactor space, a downstream gas expansion disc, which extends radially from the coaxial inlet and is located downstream of said radial injection slits with respect to said axial direction, plasma generating means suitable for ionizing a gaseous medium within said reactor space, and a cylindrical reactor container, coaxial with said gas inlet, encompassing said reactor space, said reactor container comprising outlet means. The invention further relates to a multistage reactor. The invention also relates to the use of said plasma reactor.
