Abstract: The present disclosure is generally directed to a new and innovative system, process and method that utilize a new “non-oxygen type of oxidizers” process for methane (CH4) upgrading to value-added products such as olefins and aromatics (i.e., benzene, toluene and xylene (BTX)) etc. and further removing toxic impurities such as sulphur-containing compounds (i.e. H2S) by using the sulphur as a source of radical.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing a solid biofuel from hydrocarbonaceous feedstock is described. The process includes loading a hydrocarbonaceous feedstock into a reactor vessel, adding an aqueous catalyst solution into the reactor vessel, wherein the catalyst solution resides at the bottom of the reactor vessel under the hydrocarbonaceous feedstock position, heating the reactor vessel at or above 170° C. to catalyze a reaction of hydrocarbonaceous feedstock under saturated steam conditions for a time sufficient to yield a polymeric biofuel, and isolating the polymeric biofuel from the reactor vessel.

A monomer production system includes a dissolving unit that stores therein a polyester solution, a first reaction unit into which the polyester solution and a reaction solvent are introduced and that depolymerizes the polyester in the polyester solution and extracts a first depolymerized polyester containing the depolymerized polyester into the reaction solvent, a second reaction unit that further depolymerizes the first depolymerized polyester and generates a second depolymerized polyester that is the further depolymerized first depolymerized polyester, a separation unit that separates the reaction solvent in which the second depolymerized polyester is dissolved into the reaction solvent, a carboxylic acid-derived monomer, an alcohol component monomer, and residual substances that are components other than the reaction solvent, the carboxylic acid-derived monomer, and the alcohol component monomer, and contain oligomers, and inlet pipes that introduce the carboxylic acid-derived monomer and the residual substances into the dissolving unit.

Abstract: A process for steam cracking a whole crude including a volatilization step performed to maintain a relatively large hydrocarbon droplet size. The process may include contacting a whole crude with steam to volatilize a portion of the hydrocarbons, wherein the contacting of the hydrocarbon feedstock and steam is conducted at an initial relative velocity of less than 30 m/s, for example. The resulting vapor phase, including volatilized hydrocarbons and steam may then be separated from a liquid phase comprising unvaporized hydrocarbons. The hydrocarbons in the vapor phase may then be forwarded to a steam pyrolysis reactor for steam cracking of the hydrocarbons in the vapor phase.

Abstract: A process for the conversion of a petroleum feed to light olefins may comprise pretreating the petroleum feed to form one or more pretreated petroleum feeds and fractionating the one or more pretreated petroleum feeds to form a methane stream, an ethane stream, a C3-C4 stream, a light liquid fraction, and a heavy liquid fraction. The process may further comprise methane cracking the methane stream to form hydrogen, steam cracking the ethane stream to form a steam cracking product; dehydrogenating the C3-C4 stream to form a dehydrogenated stream; and steam enhanced catalytic cracking (SECC) the light liquid fraction and the heavy liquid fraction to form an SECC product.

Abstract: An integrated process for upgrading a hydrocarbon oil feed stream utilizing a gasification unit and steam enhanced catalytic cracker includes solvent deasphalting the hydrocarbon oil stream to form at least a deasphalted oil stream and heavy residual hydrocarbons, the heavy residual hydrocarbons including at least asphaltenes; processing the heavy residual hydrocarbons in a gasification unit to form syngas and gasification residue; hydrotreating the deasphalted oil stream to form a light C5+ hydrocarbon stream, and a heavy C5+ hydrocarbon stream; steam enhanced catalytically cracking the light C5+ hydrocarbon stream to form a light steam enhanced catalytically cracked product stream including olefins, benzene, toluene, xylene, naphtha, or combinations thereof; and steam enhanced catalytically cracking the heavy C5+ hydrocarbon stream to form a heavy steam enhanced catalytically cracked product including olefins, benzene, toluene, xylene, naphtha, or combinations thereof.

Abstract: An integrated process and associated system for conversion of crude oil to value added petrochemicals. The process includes separating crude oil into light and heavy crude fractions and processing the heavy fraction in a solvent deasphalting unit and a delayed coker unit, and then providing the light fraction and selected effluents of the solvent deasphalting unit and the delayed coker unit to a hydrotreater. The process further includes separating the effluent of the hydrotreater to generate a C1 fraction passed to a methane cracker, a C2-C4 fraction passed to a steam cracker, a hydrotreated light fraction passed to an aromatization unit, and a hydrotreated heavy fraction passed to a steam enhanced catalytic cracking unit. The process further includes separating effluents of the methane cracker, the steam cracker, the aromatization unit, and the steam enhanced catalytic cracking unit into product streams including a BTX stream and a light olefin stream.

Abstract: Process and plant for producing hydrocarbon products from a feedstock originating from a renewable source, where a hydrogen-rich stream and on off-gas stream comprising hydrocarbons is formed. A portion of the hydrogen-rich stream is used as a recycle gas stream in a hydroprocessing stage for the production of said hydrocarbon products, and another portion may be used for hydrogen production, while the off-gas stream is treated to remove its H2S content and used as a recycle gas stream in the hydrogen producing unit, from which the hydrogen produced i.e. make-up hydrogen, is used in the hydroprocessing stage. The invention enables minimizing natural gas consumption in the hydrogen producing unit as well as steam reformer size.

Abstract: Processes herein may be used to thermally crack various hydrocarbon feeds, and may eliminate the refinery altogether while making the crude to chemicals process very flexible in terms of crude. In embodiments herein, crude is progressively separated into at least light and heavy fractions. Depending on the quality of the light and heavy fractions, these are routed to one of three upgrading operations, including a fixed bed hydroconversion unit, a fluidized catalytic conversion unit, or a residue hydrocracking unit that may utilize an ebullated bed reactor. Products from the upgrading operations may be used as feed to a steam cracker.
