Abstract: Processes for producing products from crude oil include separating the crude oil into at least a lesser boiling point fraction and a greater boiling point fraction and passing the fractions to a reactor system that includes a riser section and a downer section. An outer boundary of the downer section is defined by a first wall in a plane perpendicular to a central axis, and outer boundaries of the riser section are defined by the first wall and a second wall in the plane perpendicular to the central axis. In an alternate arrangement, an outer boundary of the riser section is defined by a first wall in a plane perpendicular to a central axis, and outer boundaries of the downer section are defined by the first wall and a second wall in the plane perpendicular to the central axis. The process includes cracking the lesser boiling point fraction in the riser section in the presence of a catalyst and cracking the greater boiling point fraction in the downer reactor in the presence of the catalyst. The process includes passing the catalyst from the riser to the downer, from the downer to a regenerator, and from the regenerator to the riser.

Abstract: A method of processing a hydrocarbon feed may comprise fractionating the hydrocarbon feed into a light stream and a heavy stream, where the light stream includes hydrocarbons boiling at less than 370° C., and the heavy stream includes hydrocarbons boiling at greater than greater than 370° C., hydrotreating the heavy stream to form a hydrotreated heavy stream, feeding the light stream to a first Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) reaction zone, thereby producing a light product stream which includes light olefins, and feeding the hydrotreated heavy stream to a second Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) reaction zone, thereby producing a heavy product stream which includes light olefins, where the first FCC reaction zone operates under more severe operating conditions than the second FCC reaction zone.

Abstract: Processes for producing olefins include integration of steam cracking with a dual catalyst metathesis process. The processes include steam cracking a hydrocarbon feed to form a cracking reaction effluent containing butenes, separating the cracking reaction effluent to produce a cracking C4 effluent including normal butenes, isobutene, and 1,3-butadiene, subjecting the cracking C4 effluent to selective hydrogenation to convert 1,3-butadiene in the cracking C4 effluent to normal butenes, removing isobutene from a hydrogenation effluent to produce a metathesis feed containing normal butenes, and contacting the metathesis feed with a metathesis catalyst and a cracking catalyst directly downstream of the metathesis catalyst to produce a metathesis reaction effluent. Contacting with the metathesis catalyst causes metathesis of normal butenes to produce ethylene, propene, and C5+ olefins, and contacting with the cracking catalyst causes C5+ olefins produced through metathesis to undergo cracking reactions to produce additional propene, ethylene, or both.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods for decoking tubular passes of crude oil heaters and processed hydrocarbon heaters. The method permits continued operation of an associated crude oil processing unit or a processed hydrocarbon processing unit receiving crude oil or processed hydrocarbons from the heater during the decoking operation. The decoking operation utilizes dry steam to remove coke from passes within the crude oil heater or processed hydrocarbon heater and dry steam to maintain balanced operation of the crude oil processing unit or processed hydrocarbon processing unit.

In one or more embodiments, the feedstock hydrocarbon may include crude oil and one of the petrochemical products may include light olefins.

Abstract: An integrated slurry hydroprocessing and steam pyrolosyis process for the production of olefins and aromatic petrochemicals from a crude oil feedstock is provided. Crude oil, a steam pyrolysis residual liquid fraction and slurry reside are combined and treated in a hydroprocessing zone in the presence of hydrogen under conditions effective to produce an effluent having an increased hydrogen content. The effluent is thermally cracked with steam under conditions effective to produce a mixed product stream and steam pyrolysis residual liquid fraction. The mixed product stream is separated and olefins and aromatics are recovered and hydrogen is purified and recycled.
