    摘要: A heat staking apparatus includes a workpiece support and a moveable support plate having a planar surface spaced from the workpiece support. A plurality of extensible components are supported on the support plate by holders that slideably engage the planar surface in a manner allowing horizontal adjustment in an infinite number of directions within a given area on the plane. The extensible components include staking tools configured to heat stake a workpiece located on the workpiece support. The hot staking apparatus further includes a plurality of adjustable hot air heater assemblies, one for each extensible cylinder. Each hot air assembly includes a holder adjustably secured to the support plate. The holder includes opposing members, one of which is spring-loaded for removably releasably engaging and holding the respective hot air heater assembly.

    摘要: An improved idler roll is disclosed including a longitudinal cylinder having tubular walls sealed at the ends by flanged stub shafts. The interior of the idler roll is filled with ethylene glycol. The idler roll can be placed into rolling abutment with a heated surface, and when the idler roll is stopped for a period of time, the thermal distortion along the longitudinal length of the idler roll is minimal. When the idler roll is once again started, the fluid in the idler roll causes a forced convection heat transfer, evenly distributing the temperature of the idler roll, and thereby eliminating the thermal distortion.

    摘要: Heating apparatus for thermally bonding thermoplastic foil layers to produce a longitudinally welded seam. The heating apparatus comprises an elongated jaw element having a work surface for receiving the thermoplastic foils, at least two heating elements located within the jaw element and at least one temperature sensor associated with each of the heating elements. A control device is coupled to each of the heating elements and its respective temperature sensor to maintain the temperature of the jaw element at a value which will result in bonding of the foil layers. A regulating device is coupled to the control devices and to the temperature sensors for selectively operating the control devices to switch the heating elements in accordance with the temperature detected by the temperature sensor.

    摘要: Welding apparatus for plastic lining (5) in concrete tubing (4) comprises a centering carriage (6) movable inside the tubing along its length and fixable in position at a location adjacent a butt joint (51) having a seam to be welded. A carrier arm (10) is mounted for rotation about an axis (9) coincident with the axis of the tubing (4) for supporting a welding unit (14) at its outer end remote from the axis of the tubing. A drive source (15, 16) adjacent the welding unit engages the interior of the tubing and self propells the welding unit (14) and carrier arm (10) around the interior of the tubing (4). The welding unit (14) is biased outwardly towards the wall of the tubing and is guided along the welding seam by either a guide ring (21) or a roller (20) engaging a gap (48) between adjacent tubing sections. Several degrees of freedom are provided for accommodating lack of concentricity and translation of the welding unit along the length of the tubing without moving the centering carriage.
