Abstract:
A base includes a main plate-shaped portion including a first plate-shaped portion and a pair of second plate-shaped portions, a first folding portion provided on a first virtual line, a second folding portion provided on a second virtual line, two first bottom surface portions that are each provided, in the main plate-shaped portion, between a central position of the first virtual line and each of two intersection points, two second bottom surface portions that are each provided, in the main plate-shaped portion, between a central position of the second virtual line and each of two intersection points, a first side surface portion provided between the two first bottom surface portions, on the first virtual line in the main plate-shaped portion, and a second side surface portion provided between the two second bottom surface portions, on the second virtual line in the main plate-shaped portion.
Abstract:
A container comprises a plastic blister or cover component with a first peripheral edge and a formed, first open-sided volume extending from the peripheral edge joined with a paperboard tray or tray component with a second peripheral edge, the paperboard tray or tray component having a plurality of panels forming a second open-sided volume. The container has means for joining the first peripheral edge of the plastic blister or cover component and the second peripheral edge of the paperboard tray or tray component so that the first and second volumes form a combined container volume.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for producing labeled, plastic foam containers, such as a labeled EPS cup uses a heated pocket to thermally bond a label to a plastic cup. Also described is a labeled plastic foam container, such as a labeled EPS cup, having high quality printing capabilities, sufficient stiffness, acceptable insulation and barrier properties and reduced production cost.
Abstract:
A container comprises a plastic blister with a first planar peripheral edge and a formed, first open-sided volume extending from the plane of the peripheral edge joined with a paperboard tray with a second planar peripheral edge, the paperboard tray having a plurality of panels connected at fold lines and forming a second open-sided volume. The container has means for joining the first planar peripheral edge of the plastic blister and the second planar peripheral edge of the paperboard tray so that the first and second volumes form a combined container volume. The paperboard tray may be a wedge-shaped tray, with greater depth at one end than at the other end. The container may be filled and sealed on conventional equipment used for blister packages with minor changes in tooling
Abstract:
A business form product (10) broadly including a printable sheet (12), a magnetic sheet (14) aligned edge-to-edge with the printable sheet (12) to define a seam (16), and a heat-resistant tape (18) applied over the seam (16) to retain the sheets (12,14) in the edge-to-edge relationship is disclosed. The inventive business form product (10, 106) is formed by joining multiple continuous webs (38, 58) edge-to-edge and marrying the webs (38,58) with a continuous streamer of tape (86) in a press (36). A preferred embodiment of the inventive method of forming the continuous sheet (106) is disclosed wherein at least one rotatable mechanical web guide (72) is used to align the webs (38,58) in the edge-to-edge relationship, thereby enabling precise alignment not available with existing optic-type web guides. A preferred embodiment of the printable business form product (10) is disclosed wherein heat-resistant tape (18) enables the business form product (10) to be printed in high-heat printing applications (e.g., printed in an offline laser printer) without fracturing the taped seam (16).

Abstract:
Various processes for the creation of a film to film bond using printed patterns of adhesive traces. In some implementations of the process, control of the process including control of the temperature of the adhesive and film to a temperature approaching the heat distortion temperature for the film will vary the strength of the bond from a frangible bond to a bond the tears the film, (a film-tearing bond). Some implementations of the process may be used to produce bonded films at web speed rates that are significantly higher than commercial rates for heat seal processes.
Abstract:
A bio-degradable cup includes an IXPE foam cup and a paper cup which is securely received in the foam cup. The paper cup includes a bio-degradable film coated to an inside thereof. The paper cup is made from a paperboard with a bio-degradable film coated and the paperboard is cut, folded and heat-pressed to be the paper cup. The foam cup is made from a foam board made by IXPE and the foam board is cut, shaped and folded into pieces and each piece is made to be the foam cup by way of heat pressing. A heat treatment is applied to an inside of the foam cup to obtain a sticky inner surface of the foam cup and the paper cup is securely connected to the sticky inner surface of the foam cup. A lip is made around an outer top edge of the foam cup.
